Account restricted
Summary: klinks52010 seeks advice on eBay holding funds from a completed sale. Their account was restricted after packages they shipped were stolen at a FedEx location. They clarified that the latest transaction was completed successfully, with the item authenticated and delivered. mam98031 suggested the hold might relate to recent selling activity, even for established sellers, based on eBay policies. klinks52010 explained their concern is the prolonged hold on funds from a transaction eBay authenticated and completed, despite prior issues being beyond their control.
I’m looking for advice regarding funds that eBay is currently holding from a completed sale.
My account was restricted because several packages I shipped in the past were stolen after I dropped them off at the designated FedEx location. These situations were outside of my control, and I followed eBay’s shipping instructions.
My most recent sale is different: the item was successfully delivered to eBay’s authentication center, passed authentication, and was sent to the buyer. The transaction was completed successfully, yet eBay is still holding the funds from that sale and has told me the review could take up to 190 days.
I understand eBay taking precautions when there are unresolved transactions or potential claims, but I don’t understand why the funds from an item that eBay itself received, authenticated, and successfully completed the transaction for cannot be released.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to get eBay to manually review and release the funds sooner? Any advice on who to contact or how to escalate this would be appreciated.

·3 weeks agoThis likely has nothing to do with your past, but the present.
When a seller is a Casual seller or been away from selling for about 90+ days, Ebay also may hold funds for a period of time until you have a bit of current experience under your belt. Usually no more than maybe 10 or so newer transactions.
An occasional seller
Sellers who haven't yet established a strong, consistent track record or who don't have any recent selling history will typically receive their funds 24 hours after delivery confirmation (for tracked items), or 31 days after the buyer pays (for items sent without tracking).
If you previously qualified to receive your funds faster as a new seller, you may experience this hold if you haven’t sold in a while. If you do, you’ll receive your funds 2 days after delivery confirmation or 14 days after the buyer pays.

OP3 weeks agoThanks for the information. However, I’ve actually been an eBay member since 2010, so I’m not a new member. My concern is that eBay is holding funds from an item that was successfully delivered to their authentication center, authenticated, and then sent to the buyer.
I understand that my account had issues involving packages that went missing after I dropped them off at the designated FedEx location, but those situations were outside of my control. I’m mainly trying to understand why funds from a successfully authenticated and completed transaction are being held for such a long period of time.

·3 weeks agoYou didn't read the policy or what I wrote, which you need to do so you can better understand. This policy has NOTHING to do with how long you have been a member of Ebay. And again, it likely has nothing to do with your prior problems but everything to do with the information I previously posted about an occasional seller.
