Account banned for a single defect (on a revised feedback transaction)
Hello! Writing this as a last effort since the customer support has been useless so far.
My 13 year account is banned and ebay looks dead set to keep it that way as I had a bit of string of bad luck with my buyers and ebay automated service metrics.
Account was initially banned a few weeks ago for receiving 5 defects impacting my Bad Buyer Experience (BBE)% Performance that all come from a single order. Buyer had autopay enable so it wasnt possible to send a combined shipping invoice (this is fixed now). So when the order was cancelled, the system read it as 5 separate transactions, instead of just 1, as it should. And the only reason I had to cancel this was because when US tariffs were put in place, many contries such as Portugal, stopped sending packages to the United States.
After some tries with customer support, I finally found someone helpful who removed the defects and the account was back on.
Pretty much the next day I received a negative feedback and a return request from a buyer who was convinced his item was fake (it 100% wasnt). A few more days go by and he reaches out apologising, he had done extra research and realised I was right. Requested to revise the feedback and left me positive feedback.
Unfortunaly, even with the revised feedback, I received a new defect on my account. The defect is on the SNAD% and the single defect put me at 1% which is above the market average which is 0.9%. This was apparently enough to trigger another ban on the next metric calculation date.
So now I stand here with an account banned after being pretty much spotless since forever and being treated by ebay support like I was scamming or doing some shady sales.
Absolutely disgusting to see how these automated metrics keep being pushed with all their flaws and customer support tags along with it and does nothing to fix it.
Hopefully this reachs someone who cares and does the right thing. Appreciate all the help

·9 months agoThe process is automated and there is no appeal because the sellers who are affected begin with an assumption that they are more likely than US based sellers disappoint a buyer, and that they are less likely to generate enough revenue to make it worth expending extra cost adjudicating disputes about disciplinary actions.
The incremental shipping times and the complications of duties and taxes make these transactions higher risk for buyer, seller and Ebay.

OP9 months agoHow can scammers run rampant for ages and a legit account get banned like this? What is the end goal here? Ban everyone over time? Because triggering a ban for a single defect and being at 1%, being 0.1% more than the market average is just laughable.
I know powers are limited here but I still hope this can reach the right people. Or at least be a warning that the automathed systems in place absolutely suck and the humans who should rectify the mistakes just go blindly behing it

Your message won't reach anyone here that can do anything.

Scammers have accounts banned all the time. Over and over again.
The difference is scammers are not using their real credentials, so when they open a new account in a new name or hijack someone else's account, there is no obvious connection to the banned account.
That is not an option for someone trying to do legitimate business as a seller.

Sorry to hear of your woes, but this is a community page made up of buyers and sellers, we have no ebay powers to change your account status. Generally, A ban for BBE is curtains for the seller. I'm sorry.
