I closed all my listings out in July. eBay is sending my account to a collection agency for the last 2 months. I have emailed many many times only to have them rejected. I’m very frustrated has anyone else had issues?

If eBay has sent your unpaid bill to a collections agency, you definitely need to pay if off NOW.
Your credit bureau history will be in serious trouble for YEARS if you do not pay the outstanding bill NOW.
This collections account will be showing up on ALL the national credit checking accounts, and an account sent to collections can DESTROY your ability to make purchases for years to come -- including houses, cars, rental units, other credit cards, any time purchases (such as purchasing appliances, TVs, cell-phones, etc.).
A negative credit bureau history can also affect your educational and vocational future.
No use in contacting eBay anymore -- contact the collections agency NOW to pay off this debt!

I'd be able to read the OPs messages from
ebay for the last 90 days.
Either all she needs to know is in there somewhere waiting
to be perused and digested or,
She is getting hit with a bill collector pretending to be eBay.

·10 months agoYou would only be sent to a collection agency if you owe money,sending messages is not going to help your Case at all only paying it will, The sooner you pay it the better off you will be, They could also start charging interest on the debt.

·10 months agoIf things sold while you were out of the country and ebay had to refund on your behalf, they would keep the final value fees. If they say you owe them money, that may be what is due.

What are the "issues" you are having?
What outcome are you expecting to achieve by emailing them?

·10 months agoI am not sure what you mean by "having emailed (Ebay) many times only to have them rejected". Emails do not pay debts. Make sure you have a viable payment option to Ebay listed on your Ebay account such as a credit card. If the debt has already been sent to a collection agency then that agency now owns the debt so best just to pay off the collection agency as soon as you are contacted.

Well if you get the emails rejected time after time, it should tell you that you don't have a good email address for them. Ebay has multiple ways to get in touch with them.
If you owe Ebay fees, they are like any other creditor and if you aren't paying them, they can use a collection agency and they can affect your Credit Scores.
On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

·10 months agoIf you never intend to use ebay again ebay and do not worship the credit score gods there is not much ebay will be able to do as this is a unsecured debt

·10 months agoSo if you owe past money...'sending my account to a collection agency'...that will haunt you for years with eBay.
Assuming you don't ever want to sell...and maybe not make a purchase( they might still let you).
And opening up further eBay accounts new or old accounts will be affected as well eventually.
You need to pay.
Doesn't matter what the past situations were...no one to email or call will help.

·10 months agoI don’t have those issues because I pay my eBay fees.
eBay doesn’t want to be emailed they want the money you owe them.
If they are sending a collection agency after you for payment that means you owe money and the delinquent payment will be reflected on your credit score.

OP10 months agoThank you for your input but I contacted them in July to close everything out. I did exactly what they said and went on with life until I received the collection notice. So apparently they did not close me out after 45 min discussion on what I needed to do to delete each item.

·10 months agoSeems like you may be missing the point here: Closing your account does not erase the debt that you presumably owe to eBay.

OP10 months agoI got on the phone in July and they walked me through closing each item out. I have been out of the country and just noticed an email from the collection agency.

·10 months agoClosing listings is not a difficult thing. You can do them one by one or all at once, using the bulk Editor.
Do you need some help with this, or do you have it under control now.

·10 months agoGiven that the OP's listings were seen as recently as yesterday (during which time they were removed again), it sounds like the July operation somehow just temporarily suspended them (such as for a vacation), after which they automatically relisted. Now that they have been removed (again), it will be interesting to see if they magically reappear for a second time.

·10 months agoWhy did you want to end your listings? Going out of the country and needed them taken down until you returned?
If you had come here, you would have been walked through all your options on how to go into vacation mode or end your listings. Instead since your listings were up, people probably bought items, they were not shipped, eBay had to refund and maybe you promoted items.
Either way you owe money and if you want to sell again on eBay you probably should pay what you owe. You are responsible for ending your listings or go in vacation mode. CS is ultimately not responsible for the mess you are in.

it entirely. Then they re-started after they had timed out the time-out.

·10 months agoYou have to settle all debts owed to eBay before your account can be closed. You can't just end all your listings and assume that is that is the end of your association with eBay. If eBay is sending you to collections it is because you owe them money. If you get in a dispute with eBay and refuse to pay a ruling against you, they will send it to a collection agency.
