·2 years agoIf the item is the flower pot, it is likely that unless you double boxed that item, it could be broken in transit.
You can get only so much protection by wrapping in bubble and placing in a box. Closer to bullet proof is in bubble, in box in second box with at least 2" of cushioning material between the boxes.
Given the price and the cost of shipping I would refund without a return. Filing an insurance claim and winning is not going to keep you from losing money, and you will probably lose due to poor packaging.

Has the buyer filed an INAD or just contacted you about it?
If you want to file an insurance claim:
Ask the buyer for a few pictures of the item and package, then refund the buyer.
Have the buyer hang on to the item and package so it can be inspected.
You file a claim with the carrier.

·2 years agoA) Issue a paid return label and refund in full when you receive it back.
B) Refund in full and let them keep it for free.
You want to act before eBay does as they always choose B and will ding your account for poor customer service. They could break an anvil.

·2 years agoAll things are possible to be damaged during shipping, no matter how carefully packed. It's just part of the risks of selling items online.
You can ask them for pictures for proof of the damage if you desire, but the end result will be the same. The eBay Money Back Guarantee https://pages.ebay.com/ebay-money-back-guarantee/ will cover the buyer every time.
The buyer will eventually get their money back. So you can either do it yourself, or eBay or their credit card company will force you.

·2 years agoLittle cell bubble wrap or big cell bubble wrap? The former offers no protection at all. Did you see pictures? Did they file a case? You can either pay to have them ship it back at your expense or refund the total asap and they can throw it out.

Bubble wrap alone doesn't guarantee a safe shipment. What was the item? Was it fragile or breakable? Did you ship in a box or an envelope?

·2 years agoIf item is broken in transit from USPS, file an insurance claim. Ask Buyer to send pictures of the broken item and packaging. Hopefully you wrapped it in bubble and thick paper or double boxed it. File an insurance claim with the pictures. Most likely the PO will deny your claim. Only had one in many years where I was refunded. Refund the buyer AFTER they send pictures of the broken item. If the PO honors their insurance, refund from PO should come to you as you have already refunded the buyer. If item is not broken or they will not send pictures, take this up with ebay...just a scam possibly. But you need pictures of the broken item and packaging or PO woun't pay.
