400 AUCTIONS less than 100 items viewed in 5 days
Depressing, SINCE I ALSO PAID for these listings at a greatly reduced price to encourage purchases, but apparently there still is a great lack of visibility of items. I also noticed, after being asked to join in paying for Google Advertising that sales appeared to drop.
A friend of mine did see that she sold her "advertised" items quickly, but then saw what all the costs were and was disappointed even further.
I have been her for OVER 25 YEARS! Have seen the changes, offered suggestions, and still fail to understand why certain things are done which obviously did not work in the past, and still do not today. Even the fact that my "Home Page" design changes frequently, photo options change, and a few other things, which DO NOT promote better or higher sales.
I made the comment, again, about the snipers limiting and resulting in slow sales and why eBay can not do what some other sites do with soft closings, or at least increase the bid increments... but all people want deals, but cheap is cheap, and most buyers fail to understand all the fees and time involved.
Much like "Make and Offer"- does not include shipping, though no way a Seller can add shipping, and most buyers think their offer of $4 on an item that cost $7 is a fair and just sale????
Anyway, coming up on 30 Years here and about to retire from attempting to do this full time.
Shame, as it has become far less fun and fulfilling as it once was.

·2 years agoOh, I didn't even LOOK at your auctions when I looked at your account.
Auctions are best for items with extremely wide interest.
You instead went at put up 400 incredibly obscure items at $25 start prices. Many of the books you put up for bid at $25+ shipped starting bid prices are available for almost nothing from other sellers.
Example, "Bugs Bunny Rides Again". No wonder nobody is bidding $26 shipped on it when there are multiple copies available at under $6 shipped.
The HUNTRESS and the SPHINX, your auction $26 shipped. Your competition, $5.01 shipped.

·2 years agoI'm not sure what you're referring to here. There is no "limiting" of snipers, nor would you want to limit bid sniping anyway, as the final minutes and (especially) seconds can be where the price rises the most.
The soft closing argument has been done to death here; it's not going to happen, nor is it really desirable. Searching for "deadline extension" or similar terms here will bring up plenty of past discussions.
Regarding bid increments, those do go up as the bid price increases. See the "Bid increments" topic on this eBay Help page: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/bidding/automatic-bidding?id=4014
If your items are not fetching multiple bids, perhaps auction is not the best format for them. There is no point in running an auction for an item with a known average retail price or commonly-accepted price range. Save your auctions for items which are rare, vintage, or otherwise very competitively sought.

You seem to be guessing all your prices and not researching anything. Very obvious from the various price buckets you tend to use for similar items, and the fact that you were double to triple market price on every single item I price checked. I don't know anyone who researches a price on an item and then lists there item for triple what the solds are.
Guess too high, item never sells, guess too low and the item sells.
The longer you continue to guess your prices the more and more your store will fill up with the prices you guessed too high until you have a 2500 item store almost all of which is vastly overpriced.
There are ways to fix that though. The hard one is to actually price research all those thousands of items you have and then fix the prices.
The easy method is to mark down a percentage each month on all your old inventory and continue doing that forever or until the item goes below what you would be willing to ship something out at. If doing that I would first bulk edit out all that free shipping so it doesn't bite you in the butt later. I suggest just loading all the free ship items into the bulk editor at once, lowering all their prices by $6 and adding $6 shipping.

·2 years agoIt's been a pretty slow week across all of the venues I sell on although I am holding a couple of items for buyers who like a LOT of people are on vacation this week. There are also some weather related issues (floods, tornados and a hurricane that is about to slam into Texas, O and a few wildfires here an there.

Your Joe DiMaggio picture is actually Mickey Mantle.
Your wrestler necklace is John Cena.

·2 years agoI'm sure there are quite a few buyers like me that almost totally ignore Auction listings. Of all the purchases I've made on eBay in the past I can only recall one or two that were Auctions rather than Fixed Price.
The most recent (last year) Auction that I bid/bought was an item I had a saved search for 8 years before one finally showed up for sale....I was the only bidder on that listing.
I can see that almost all of your recently sold Auctions only had one bidder, that should tell you something.
Personally I think "soft closing" would be the final nail in the coffin for Auction style listings on eBay.

From a buyer perspective I am always glad to hear that it reduces the competition when I am bidding on something. 🙂

Agree with you on the soft closing.

Just an honest opinion.
You have to know what your items are actually worth.
In stamps and post cards...I saw nothing of value even for free.
Other items on auctions I did not look.
But setting a bid limit...you will get no bids.
