4 returns this month from other businesses.
Maybe it's just me, but if you own a business and order a part, and the customer either changes their mind or no longer needs it, it should not be made my financial responsibility.
I own a business too, and I would never in a million years do that.
The last return I just got today, this auto shop ordered a lift kit for a customer, well it turns out "they already had one".
But why is this being made my cost to bear?

·Aug 11, 2026 at 10:21 PMI completely feel your pain here. We are, unfortunately, living in a Walmart and big store world where returns are accepted as a part of being in business. My solution (and it's a poor example of just realizing I have to life with the occasional return) is to sell lots and lots of items and just take the occasional return as a cost of doing business. I have sold about 27,000 items overall, and I have been lucky in that only about 25 or so items have been returned for a refund. I have more items that I ship out and the address is wrong so I have to send it a second time and lose the shipping cost. Again, a cost of doing business.
Imagine if you had a retail operation and had all the overhead expenses - rent, utilities, employees, employee theft (sometimes called shrinkage), shoplifting, etc. Selling on eBay pretty much eliminates those costs of business so I can more easily accept the problem of the occasional refund.

·Aug 11, 2026 at 10:12 PMI'm sorry this is happening to you.
One of the most bitter lessons to learn in life is that others aren't going to treat you as you would treat them.

·Aug 11, 2026 at 8:21 PMThere should be some kind of 'fine' for people that put you through this kind of nonsense.

·Aug 11, 2026 at 8:03 PMI'm like you. I would never do that.
But you can't expect others to be like you.
Unjustified returns are ll a part of doing business online.

OPAug 11, 2026 at 8:04 PMAll it does it pass these costs onto the bottom line and it's tough being competitive price wise as it is. You really can't raise prices to absorb these costs and remain competitive.
