$395 fees charged for the seller even the buyer cancelled the orde
I used another account selling a laptop. The buyer cancelled the order, when I tried to approve that cancelling, my account was suspended by the eBay. So I cannot proceed to manage that return, the customer service guy told me that they would give the buyer refunds and I do not need to anything(In fact, I could not do anything because everything related to my account has failed).
Then it showed there was a case initiated by the buyer, I sent another mail urging the customer to give the buyer refunds, they told me that will be fine, I do not need to anything.
Then today, I was told, because I have not done anything, and eBay ended the "Case" and gave the buyer fully refunded, but the seller, me, who did not receive any amount of money, need to pay the "fee" and advertisement promotion fee, in total $395($340 transaction fees). Isn't it insane?

·5 months agoYou have been charged a commission on a sale that was not only cancelled by the buyer but also forcibly refunded by eBay due to your account suspension. Correct?
Why You Were Charged the $395
Under normal circumstances, eBay refunds the Final Value Fee when you approve a buyer’s cancellation request. However, because your account was suspended, you were unable to "approve" the cancellation through the standard process.
Forfeiture of Fee Credits: eBay’s policy states that if they have to step in to resolve a dispute for you, you are no longer eligible for a fee credit for that transaction.
Promoted Listings Fees: These ad fees are typically charged the moment the sale occurs. While they are credited back during a standard cancellation, the automated "forced" refund by eBay overlooks these credits unless manually appealed.
Steps to Recover the $395
Since you cannot access your account to file a standard dispute, you must take these external routes:
Appeal the Case Outcome: Even with a suspended account, you can often appeal a case decision if you can prove the buyer was the one who requested the cancellation and you were unable to act due to blocks.
Request a Manual Fee Credit: Explain that the "Case" was only opened because the system blocked you from approving a buyer-requested cancellation. Request a manual credit for the Final Value Fee ($340) and the Ad Promotion Fees ($55).

·5 months agoHate to break it to you, but, opening new accounts to avoid suspension on other accounts will cause eBay to ban you permanently.

OP5 months agoAfter they permanently banned me, I used the different mail address registered this account. I don’t know even this would cause problems, I am not sure. But the key is not suspended account issue, it is about additional charge on me with regards to transaction fees, because the case was because I cannot proceed to do anything after I was permanently banned

OP5 months agoI mean it is totally Ok to ban me, but why I need to pay for the fees except the advertisement. Additionally, this buyer contacted me and made the payment not even through the ads

"After they permanently banned me, I used the different mail address registered this account."
Yes and eventually the system or Ebay will figure it out and this account will also be suspended.
"But the key is not suspended account issue, it is about additional charge on me with regards to transaction fees, because the case was because I cannot proceed to do anything after I was permanently banned"
In regards to that it is connected though. You stated " So I cannot proceed to manage that return, the customer service guy told me that they would give the buyer refunds and I do not need to anything(In fact, I could not do anything because everything related to my account has failed).
You account didn't fail your account has been suspended. So no you will not be able to do anything. By not being able to do anything Ebay stepped in and now you are on the hook for the transaction fee. You are responsible for that fee.
