2.99 one time fee has been diacontinued
Thanks to all the whiners who sell cheap landfill bound items, we now no longer are able to pay a one time free of 2.99. This means if i sell an antique for $800, for instance, i will now owe more than just 2.99!

·2 years agoIt's a fine line between cheap landfill bound items and an $800 antique, ask any dumpster diver.

·2 years agoThis is frustrating because rather than pay the 2.99 visible boost and 11% overall fee , the only way to promote now cost 9% promote of overall sale anything less is not worth promoting, plus 11% sale fee plus a futher 9.9 % on over all percentage meaning a total of 29.9 of overall fee will be deducted if promoting at 9% . After postage cost makes it very hard .

·2 years agoAre you talking about promoted listings for auctions?
Starting April 29th you can promote auction listings with Promoted Listings Standard.
That means paying only when an item sells and choosing an ad rate percentage just like everyone does with fixed priced listings.

·2 years agoWHAT!???! You always have owed more than 2.99, ALWAYS. If you think you have only paid a 2.99 "one time fee" to sell on eBay then you haven't been paying very close attention, or any attention at all for that matter.

·2 years agoI have never heard of an ebay 2.99 fee...... can you show me me a link to ebay policy on that type of fee?

·2 years agoWhat are talking about? All of what whiners?
I have never seen a flat rate fvf of $2.99 never in all my years of selling on this platform.
Final value fees were increased Feb 15, 2023.
It's more like 13.25% plus 40 cents (on the total amount the buyer pays) for sales over $10.00.

·2 years agoThe original poster is talking about Promoted Listings Express being discontinued @ebooksdiva , and being replaced by Promoted Listings Standard for auction format listings.
https://www.ebayads.com/2024/04/04/grow-your-business-with-promoted-listings-standard-now-in-place-of-promoted-listings-express/
The PLE fee was a flat fee charged upfront, whether the item sold or not. Fee was determined, in part, based on starting bid so the lower the starting bid, the lower the PLE fee.
Now that PLE is being replaced by PLS, if promoted at the minimum of 2%, the sale of an auction ending at $800 would result in a $16 PLS fee give or take (depending on whether there's sales tax and a separate ship cost).

·2 years agoThe OP sure didn't specify what they were talking about.
As always thanks for your input.

·2 years agoYeah, if I wasn't already aware of the PLE change and some of the standard PLE rates ($2.99, $4.99, etc) I would have been very confused by the OP. 🙂
Edit: I added a PLE tag to the OP to hopefully make it more clear for newcomers to the discussion.

·2 years agoI use PLS, I'd rather pay to promote when the item sells instead of paying when it doesn't.

·2 years agoAm I the only one who's surprised how many posts there are on this subject?
I had no idea so many people were willing to pay the ad fee for auctions up front like that.

·2 years agoAuctions are less than 15% of transactions on eBay.
I'm surprised it's that high.
I guess there is a certain type who uses them because they always have.
