2024onlineshop Scam - Stealing eBay Listings/Scam
Summary: jerzee908 discovered their eBay listings and photos being used on a site called "2024onlineshop" at significantly lower prices and flagged as a scam. They inquired about actions to prevent such unauthorized usage. leatrau92 suggested reporting scam stores to authorities like Google, BBB, and the FBI. The thread was eventually closed by the eBay Community Moderation Team to maintain platform relevance.
So, I have some car parts listed and I had a potential buyer message me to tell me that I'm too high on my part and that they can get it for half as much on another website, so I did some digging......
I found my part on a site called "2024onlineshop" FILLED with many ebay listings, with all of my photos and information for most of the parts I have listed, but everything is 50% cheaper than my listings. This site is also flagged as a scam.
What can we do or what can ebay do to stop this site from stealing seller's information, listings and photos?

·2 years agoThere is little you can do to prevent the use of your pictures and information/description on other sites. That would be a loosing battle it is simply to widespread and unless you own the IP rites to the photos or the text you have no legal precedent.
You can however do as @wastingtime101 did and report the scam site to the FTC.

·2 years agoHello,
I sent an email to eBay few months ago about this scammers for the same reason and nothing from eBay. Not even that they received my email, very sad. I verified and almost EVERYTHING on their pages is from
eBay listings and at about half a price.

·2 years agoBuyer,
Thanks for the alert. The other site that shows the item for half price is a scam. I've reported the fraudulent site to https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/

Very good response. I would likely include or add "It would would not be a good idea to provide your c.card information."

·2 years agoI guess they suck at their math . It says 70% off . 70% off $5.95 would be $1.78 not $2.98

·2 years agoMaybe you could put a disclaimer in your listings that you have physical possession of this item, but that items are being featured on another site without your consent.
jerzee908
OP2 years agoThat could be a possibility.

·2 years agoThose websites pop up and shut down constantly. While it is sad for the people duped by them, they don't actually do anything to you as a seller.
jerzee908
OP2 years agoNo, it does do something to a seller. I've already explained that a potential buyer is quoting me a price from that site and since it is my exact listing, they feel I should also be as low as this scam site.
solidguitar1961
·2 years agoI would respond to them that that website is a scam . What would you say if it was an actual honest site that offered it at that price?
jerzee908
OP2 years agoAn honest site wouldn't steal all of my photos and listings word-for-word to sell something I have and what they don't have. Did you not see the screen shot of your photos/listing on this fraudulent site?
solidguitar1961
·2 years agoYes I did , but there is nothing I can do about it.
onefootflipper
·2 years agoYou experienced a lightning strike with that even happening, unlikely to repeat. I have about 13,000 listings between my 2 accounts. Last I checked there are a good half dozen scam sites that have all my listings mirrored and I have never encountered anyone mentioning those sites.
leatrau92
·2 weeks agoThat doesn't mean that other sellers haven't experienced this. It puts you in a terrible position to have to explain to potential buyers that that other site is a complete scam and not real. These scammers and scumbags should not be allowed to scrape your listings. Period.
leatrau92
·2 weeks agoAnd yes you can do something, REPORT EVERY SCAM STORE WITH YOUR LISTINGS TO GOOGLE BBB AND FBI ONLINE CRIME REPORTING.

OP2 years agoYour Cinerama matchbook is for sale on that site for $2.98. So, if someone that was interested in that particular matchbook and looked it up to comp it, they may have tried buying it off this site or said to themselves, why should I buy from this person when they are charging more for everything on eBay?
solidguitar1961
·2 years agothey can try to buy it there and get burnt
jerzee908
OP2 years agoSo if they get burnt, they'll think it is you burning them.
solidguitar1961
·2 years agoIf I'm selling it on Ebay in the USA why would I have it listed on a Russian website
jerzee908
OP2 years agoYou wouldn't have it listed on that site. I know that, you know that, but I'm sure plenty of buyers DON'T know that (like the buyer that contacted me about being too high in price). Buyers are always falling for scams and all they see is whatever item you are selling being cheaper elsewhere.
