2-3 Day Delivery??

Overnight my listings are showing 2-3 Day delivery, I did not put that there & i would not even know how to put that there, I can't guarantee that, even if i ship everything priority i can't guarantee that, I don't think that USPS even guarantee's that, So how do i go about removing this?, & has anyone else notice this in their listings?

·12 hours agoFrom a dollar to dollar comparison, I buy from eBay than I sell. I don't like sellers who sit on shipping two to three days to even ship. Then another days or so to drop it OFF. When you have project, and want the products yesterday sellers like that tick me off.

I ship within the same day or the following day if USPS has already been at my office. In some instances, I try to get people to drop it off on their way early home from work. I assume people need the product for service as much as I need mine.

·1 year agoChecked listings and it says you can get it to me by Friday or Monday the latest. Knowing you live next to the land of barbwire and a bit southwest of us, you would be pressed to get something to us by next Friday. It takes a full week from us to get an item delivered anywhere in the wider Chicago area. We can drive to your place in approx 4 hrs.

·1 year agoI just checked one f your listings and it says Estimated between Fri, Feb 7 and Tue, Feb 11, for Tron ultimate. Just to be sure I was not steering you wrong.

·1 year agoI am having the same problem but I was thinking it is because I am looking at my listing and MY own zip code is what they are reading. Just occurred to me after I clicked in here to see this. So i just checked this theory out!
I went to a different Browser - I didn't sign in, I searched and located one of my own items. Then I clicked on the SHIPPING and adjusted to a Different zip code across the united states from the one they were reading from my own area ( It was not correct but it was very close lol) the shipping time went up. I checked several other zip codes and it was also different. So problem solved! So glad I came in here because I just had not thought of that before I saw your post. so now both of our problems are solved. :0)
I was about to try changing shipping to with editing to see if that worked. Big Time saver.

·1 year agoAgree USPS delivery times are estimates and so are FeEx, UPS and Amazon
BUT I shipped 1665 packages by USPS Priority Mail Services and well over 90% were shipped within 1 day or sooner and delivered within 3 business days - even the USPS Ground Advantage for light weight packages. That is a real decent batting average in my book - wish I had that average on my report cards or my college transcripts. The few that were delayed were Christmas Holiday shipment but all were delivered within the eBay estimated date/time frame. Kept the buyers informed by eBay message of any delays - they appreciated it. Oh I shipped (had scanned in) on Saturdays (not considered an eBay "business day- but mail does move over the weekends). Where there is the will, there is a way.. Can't, Cannot, Cain't etc was/is a word I only used when it was/is physically impossible. Top level customer service is key to success in many things including selling and so is a PMA = Positive Mental Attitude. Michael Jordan had the best motivational slogan "Just Do It" - I cannot wear Nikes for love or money they never fit my foot w/ funky & ugly bunyons. New Balance gets all my money. .In closing I say "Practice DOES NOT make perfect - Perfect Practice Does". Naysayers need to do this

·1 year agoWhen you view your listings, it is returning information for shipping to the zip code you have on your account. So shipping from your zip code to your zip code would be pretty quick. If you want to see something different, go to the shipping page and put in a zip code that is further away from you.

·1 year agoNoticed I got opted into international shipping when I previously had it turned off, and I also shipped with USPS Ground Advantage the other day, but now don't have that selection available for something I am trying to list today. Whatever changes they made to this section are extremely confusing and don't match the USPS website.

·1 year ago@meme6253 your listings show me 'estimated Jan 14 to 17 (so, next Tue to Fri from your location (Illinois) to mine in Nevada going Ground Advantage. Probably no way on the 14th, but possible by next Friday, depending on your handling time.
The 'system' has been doing that for 5+ years. I have 5 business days handling, including the 'yellow caution' that shows on EVERY listing, yet it still says
Estimated delivery Jan 14-17; yet 5 Business Days from today is 1/17, so there is NO WAY it will get Anywhere by the 17th, not even next door!
Reps at FB said they use 'an average of when you ship' 'average of delivery' and a 'proprietary algorithm' (latin for hogwash). I do ship out no later than 3 days, most are 2 days after purchase, picked up the next (day 3) day.
So, this is old and will never change.

·1 year agoI had what you had yesterday but today it has changed when I entered a different zip code.
I have 5 business days handling time and delivery was on my handling time...but it did change today back to normal. I did complain...don't know if that helped.

·1 year agoI wouldn't be too concerned over this, this has been going on a while for me when I do have a sale, I ship within one business day, I message the purchaser to advise their item is on the way with tracking # .....and an estimated delivery date, Pkg does go USPS Advantage, most often it exceeds 2-3 days delivery. Have never had any issues.

·1 year agoI contacted eBay about this issue, they told me that THEY don't determine the delivery window, USPS does. I found that interesting. Guess we have to just accept it.

·1 year agoWhat you see and what your customer see are different. You see delivery times if you ship from your town to your town. I am in California and viewed Sphero (priority mail) and it shows delivery January 14-21.

·1 year agoWhen you look at your own listings, you see the estimated delivery time for a buyer in your own ZIP Code. As suggested above, try out a ZIP Code farther away, perhaps the famous 90210. You'll see a longer estimate.

·1 year agoYou may want to consider changing your handling time from 1 day to 2 or 3 days. You still can ship out next or same day and it gives you a little cushion if you can't.
I do that and if i do ship out same day or next, i will message the buyer (Thank them for the purchase) that i upgraded there shipping so it gets mailed faster and include a disclaimer within the message about shipping delays beyond my control. (i have a form response message saved for these) It is a little more work, but it gives your customers a positive interaction before they get their item and opens lines of communications with them. I have the time to do this, and my single sales are usually over $100.

OP1 year agoI use a disclaimer as well, but i also never advertise 2-3 days, I don't like it, I mean it looks good, sounds good, But not very probable, I have customers order from me that live about an hour away & they don't receive it for 3-4 days.

·1 year agoYep! It's insane that eBay would do that. Also considering all the gigantic winter storms everywhere. I find it misleading for buyers and sellers. Then we are expected to hold up the unrealistic dates. I currently have a buyer who opened an INR claim. I sent them a nice message apologizing for the delay and explaining that I live in the area that received a foot of snow. His response was "not my problem!!! You put on your listing that specific delivery date and I want my money back". So yeah, people don't understand. Ebay needs to side be realistic and understand that there are huge delays being reported.

OP1 year agoIt is very misleading & it falls back on the seller, if these expectations are not met!, & yeah there has been way too many weather related delays, & now the California fires, Not Good.

As far as I know, eBay shows the estimated delivery date based on the buyer's zip code. I see realistic estimated delivery dates on your listings for my AZ zip code.

eBay does this to the listings. They think it will help.
I 100% agree with you and would like this removed from listings BUT ... eBay doesnt see it as causing issues for sellers when there is zero chance the item will arrive in 2 days.
eBay thinks the buyer will buy because they will get the item fast (2 days), talk about BBE.

OP1 year agoI think it could definitely cause issues for sellers,because you will have customers complain that they did not receive their order in the allotted time, that could become a very big problem.

·1 year agoIf you look that estimate is probably your zip code. If you put in a different one you will get a more accurate date.

·1 year agoCan't recall USPS ever guarantee a Priority Mail delivery dates always been estimates since 1996. .Even the USPS Priority Express 1-2 Guaranteed Delivery service is not Guaranteed but if one purchase by a given time of day and it isn't delivery in 1 or 2 USPS business days the buyer will be refunded (if you make a claim).
One thing that can mess up an on time delivery time is the forever uncontrollable "Human Factor". All in all USPS does a good job - have yet to have a USPS piece of mail delivered to my mail box only had 2 pieces of mail I shipped via Priority on different dates lost forever at a the same sort facility in NYC. - must have got on the MTA with poor ole Charlie
