·2 years agoCassini is working overtime to not let us get sales.
All of the ads they are shoving everywhere, including in the middle of our items, is burning out buyers with an overload of choices, leasing to choice paralysis.
A little bit of choice is ideal. Like three choices in studies seems to be optimal for an average person. Too much choice for an average person overwhelms them and often results in no choices being made at all. Plus ads absolutely everywhere is extremely frustrating.

I feel your pain as I am also a jewelry seller. I hand make mine, yet nothing this month. I've lowered my prices and even accepted an offer or two. Nada. All I can say is hopefully the holidays will bring the sales for us. Hang in there & PS You do have some really COOL jewelry items.

·2 years agoYour showing only 8,000, not 18,000 active listings. With that said people just must not be buying jewelry right now and it happens to be the most oversaturated category other than clothes. With that much competition you will need to keep lowering prices if you expect more than 6 sales.

·2 years agoOK so that means the OP better get it together fast and do something about the problem. 18,000 listings and only 6 sales is laughable. Those prices will need to drop 50% with many listings and no sales.

·2 years agoJewelry hasn't been selling well at my B&M job since the pandemic, I can say that much. Well, I should correct that a bit-- fancy/expensive jewelry hasn't been selling well. Inexpensive stuff that you can wear every day with casual outfits is still doing just fine.

·2 years agoSame here, 2100+ listings, 1 sale, what has happened, changes are killing us, they want us to pay our bills, but not possible with these sales. And ebay has 2-4 billion in sales each quarter, and yet a couple of months ago decided they needed more and added an additional 0.35% to final value, guess the share holders weren't making enough.

·2 years agoSome sellers fail to realize they are not actually selling products here - they are just providing a service best described as instacart for thrift stores and yard sale junk.

·2 years agoJust over 800 listings and over 50 sales going out this weekend.
Doesn't matter how many items you have in listed in your store...
What does matter is the quality, demand, sell thru rate etc... of those items.
Their are thousands of sellers on this platform that are doing great, no reason you can't be either.
Don't blame eBay, just do better. Maybe it's time to start making some changes yourself and with the items your selling.

You have had 109 sales on your smaller account (this one apparently) in the past week.
How many sales did you have on your other account , the one we can't see?
You need to do better record keeping, if you have managed to misplace 103 sales. Did you get them in the mail yet? You only have about five days for that.

And I counted 109 sales since last Sunday, August 20.
How were your sales in August 2018? 2019? 2022?
(The pandemic surge in online buying during 2020 and 20121 make those years outliers and not too useful.)
We should compare apples to apples not to oranges. Sales in the summer are different than sales in the winter.
Or even sales last week.
You do know we can see not only your listings but also your last 90 days of sales, right?
and see you have the auto-pay option still turned on.
I believe having this option turned on will turn off most potential customers.

·2 years agoebay mandates the auto pay for buyers and turning it off won't matter as some or many buyers can't bid or buy without entering the auto info first...could be some test program where some buyers are opted in and some aren't....

·2 years agoWell I guess sellers can now look at the bright side of the new auto-pay policies, no more non-payers. Too bad it's at the cost of losing paying buyers too.
I just found out this week the 2 accounts I use are now being punished with this auto pay policy. I was waiting til the 20th, my cc cut off date, to make a bunch of offers. After attempting a few and seeing this I gave up. I did message one of my regular sellers to send me an offer instead so I could pay normally, which they did. But the rest I will buy the items elsewhere.

·2 years agoIt makes no sense. There should be zero issue for paying right away if the seller accepts a buyers voluntary offer. Thers no need to wait for 4 days and hold up inventory, and shipping out. And the longer no payment is made, the more likely no payment will be made.

Sellers are automatically opted into immediate payments. If a buyer has been put into the program (it is being gradually rolled out to all buyers), then the purchase will be immediate payment. if a buyer has not yet been put into the program, then the purchase will not be immediate payment.
IF the seller opts OUT of immediate payments, then it doesn't matter whether the buyer has been put into the program or not: immediate payment will not be required for that purchase.
For sellers whose business depends on buyers buying multiples , opting out makes sense.

One of my regular sellers turned it off plus added me to their exemption list and it still required my payment info if I attempt to make an offer. They finally sent me a special offer so I could pay for all my items together with combined shipping.
AMOF, I just tested a B/O item sold by @reallynicestamps , whom I also believe has it turned off, and sure enough my payment offer was required.

Which is why I don't think it is useful or necessary.
I never actually turned it off though. I did not know that it had been automatically added.
Any idea how to close it?

And best to check every now and then that if you want it unchecked, it stays that way.

·2 years agoIt was a gorgeous day here in New England with sunshine and a sea breeze. I and many other potential buyers were out in the real world. I was at a local Jazz Festival.
Summer is almost gone, and some of us would rather enjoy what's left instead of shopping online.

·2 years agoI just tested one of your BIN w/BO and see you have the auto-pay option still turned on.
If you're not aware, Ebay opted all sellers into the auto-pay w/o even letting them know. I would recommend turning off the requirement at the bottom of the page in the link below, but that's up to you. Many buyers are refusing to even bid or make offers because of this.

·2 years agoIf a buyer makes an offer and a seller accepts wheres the problem of immediate payment? Why would they make an offer, but then not want to pay if the offer they made is accepted? Having it paid for right away allows the seller to pack it up and ship it out faster instead of waiting for days on a payment that, as time goes on, is far less likely to be submitted.

·2 years agoBecause if someone got 6 sales on 18000 and someone got 3 sales on 10000, it makes perfect sense that I got 0 on 73.
Many of the 73 listings have more than quantity 1 available. Back in the days when eBay was actually useful, I rarely had more than 100 listings, but often sold $1000/day.
