11-Year Seller, 100% Feedback, 6,663 Score - Permanently Restricted. Two Appeals Rejected in Minutes
Summary: A participant initiated a discussion about their e-commerce experience, highlighting their status as an 11-year seller with a 100% feedback score and a high score of 6,663. Despite this positive track record, they faced a permanent restriction on their account. Attempts to appeal the decision were met with swift rejections. The thread included numerous responses from others, expressing empathy and possibly sharing similar experiences or advice, although specific content of these exchanges is not provided.
I am hoping the community and perhaps an eBay staff member can help me understand what I am doing wrong here, because after two appeals I genuinely do not know what else I can do.
My account (since August 2015):
- Feedback Score: 6,663
- Positive Feedback: 100.0% (not 99.something, one hundred percent)
- 288 active listings, about 16,600 lifetime sales
- Active Store subscription (Basic, annual)
- Never had a policy violation before this
What happened:
On May 19, 2026, I received a NO SELLING PRIVILEGE restriction for Item Not Received rate (5.14%, 11 out of 214 transactions over 12 months).
I fully accept responsibility. The root cause was clear: I was using Japan Post Small Packet Air (no tracking) for some international orders outside the US. I should have switched to tracked shipping for ALL destinations sooner. That is on me.
What I have already done (before even filing my first appeal):
- Got approved for Japan Post Large-Volume business shipping account (May 22)
- Eliminated ALL non-tracked shipping options from every policy
- Built an automated pipeline: eBay order to shipping label with tracking to tracking uploaded back to eBay via API
- Every single INR case was proactively refunded by me before any escalation. eBay Resolution Center can verify this
The appeals:
- 1st appeal (May 24): Detailed Plan of Action with all of the above. Rejected by Venkata P. in about 20 minutes.
- 2nd appeal (May 24): Even more detailed version addressing specific metrics. Rejected by Shiv D. in about 5 minutes.
Five minutes. For an 11-year account with 100% feedback. I do not think a human read it.
What I am struggling with:
I am not asking for special treatment. I understand the policy exists to protect buyers. But:
- Every single INR case was resolved by ME proactively refunding the buyer. No cases escalated.
- The root cause (non-tracked international shipping) has been completely eliminated. Not promised, DONE.
- 11 years of 100% positive feedback should at least earn a real review, not a 5-minute template rejection.
I have shipped from Japan to buyers in 50+ countries for over a decade. I have built my livelihood on this platform. I am not looking for sympathy. I am looking for someone at eBay to actually read my appeal and tell me specifically what is missing.
If any eBay staff or experienced sellers can point me in the right direction, I would sincerely appreciate it. I am willing to do whatever it takes.
Thank you for reading.

·4 months agoHello! Have you heard back from eBay since then? I’m in a similar situation. My payments (totaling over 6,000 euros) were frozen six weeks ago (apr 24) for the same reason.

·4 months agoThere is no help anyone here can give you, Once your account is permanently restricted you cannot sell here & there is really no recourse for you, Sorry but there is no better news.

·4 months agoFeedback is not useless. Nor is it everything. It's just a tool in the toolbox you have available to you as a shopper on the platform.
One tool does not define a toolbox. It's just a piece of the puzzle.

·4 months agoSellers with 100% feedback should not be restricted.
They should be able to do whatever they want without any concequences.

·4 months agoI'm sorry for what you went through, I've been through this too, let me explain in a few lines.
In January 2026 my account was restricted for sales without any explanation or if the restriction is permanent or not. I've contacted customer service many times since then. The answers are different and sometimes unclear. The most common answer was that I have problems with INR and BBE and that's the reason. The problem is that I don't have any problems with INR and BBE, both are 0%, I have 100% positive ratings. The answers are always nonsense, evasive, and different. Some say the suspension is permanent, most say it's temporary. In the meantime, I moved my business from eBay (I still had 2 active accounts, one business and one personal) to other local and EU platforms, and I can say that business is going much better. I benefit from professional customer support, I no longer have to deal with eBay scams, and the commissions I pay them are much lower.
My opinion is that this platform is not worth the hassle, considering how they treat their customers. In the 2000s, there was adequate customer service, I would talk on the phone with an eBay representative (usually from the US or UK) and the problem would be solved on the spot. Now all the names of those who respond to messages are localized in Indian culture, I will not comment anymore.
Good luck!

·4 months agoAnother victim of not understanding what constitutes acceptable seller behavior and how it is measured.
It is often the same, seller can no longer sell, but points to their FB and seller level.
Maybe a language issue.
Maybe a difference in understanding of acceptable business practices.
Maybe just laziness assuming they can remedy any problems after the fact.
Whatever it is, it seems to be a permanent status.

·4 months agoMy account was permanently restricted for a 1.6% INR, it really sucks. I never had any negative or neutral ratings, 14 years of selling, 100% positive feedback, and now my funds will be held for who knows how long. They didn't give me an opportunity to appeal either. But I see a lot in this community saying that's normal, so I guess I'll just have to swallow my disappointment.

So my question for you is the same question I asked OP: did ebay not give you any kind of notice that your account was in jeopardy before they restricted you?
I see your account is in Columbia, so you are under the BBE guidelines as well.
rubicon_irons_tattoo_machine_ep
·4 months agoNo, obviously not. When I got the notification, they restricted the account just a few days later. I had to boost my sales to lower a 1.6% BBE in less than a week, which is impossible. It was 2 cases out of 150 sales over 3 months—I would've had to sell a ton in no time to fix that ratio. BBE is calculated on a 90-day rolling basis and evaluated weekly. It’s a stupid rule, but like everyone says on this forum, rules are rules. I didn't know them; maybe if I had read this forum earlier, but you only come here when you're already in trouble. In fact, in two of the cases, the customers said they just wanted to ask about the tracking and closed them the same day. But the damage was already done.

·4 months agoWith all due respect, as great as the forum is, you don't have to come to the forum to find out what you are supposed to do. Just like in the U.S., I'm sure eBay has their policy readily avaialble for international sellers to review. That's the core issue. Sellers, no matter where they are from, get into some mindset that they don't need to know what the policies are or they believe they already know them. To an extent, I understand it. You can halfway wing it and things can seem like they are riding smoothly...until you realize problems have been mounting up and it is too late.
Sellers also have to understand that feedback is for buyers only. eBay does not consider it. They cannot, because buyer feedback is subjective and most buyers don't bother to leave it anyway. So feedback does not really tell eBay whether you are meeting their standards. That's why they have their formulas and criteria they measure internally. That considers all of your transactions using objective data, rather than a select group of buyers' opinions.

·4 months agoIt says NO Selling Privilege not MC011? Is that considered permanent ban from selling? Looks like appeals are now being sent to india for processing, which dont understand selling, and worst than AI.

·4 months ago@takak2015 I am curious about how the BBE system works.
Here in the US, we are graded with Top Rated, Above Standard, and Below Standard. Any time that a seller is close to getting knocked down in rating because of performance issues, ebay sends a message stating that there are problems and corrective measures need to be taken (I'm summarizing, of course). So, we are given plenty of notice that problems need to be addressed or we might lose our selling privileges.
My question to those oversea who are part of the BBE program is, do you not receive some sort of notification before you are permanently suspended? Did you receive notifications that you had a large number of INR's and that you needed to fix the shipping method?
There are literally sellers on this board everyday who have been permanently restricted because of BBE asking what they can do to fix it, and I have to wonder, were they not given the chance to fix it before they were shut down? Is that why the appeals are getting denied?

·4 months agoThe appeals process with Ebay is a total joke and they know it.
Ebay now occupies a space of almost monopoly status for small market people wanting
resell items. I have had THREE circumstances where a 'buyer' (profile was exclusively
buying activity) contact me outside of the item listing and ether complain or demand
a specific discount or discount coupon extended to them. Clearly their activity is
one in which they feel other Ebay-ers are their wholesale supply. Typically I have ignored
those outside transaction communications however, within 24-48 hours of each instance
I was hit with a 'complaint' and restriction on same listing. In EVERY instance Ebay
auto-rejected the appeals and the last time I was prohibited from selling or conducting
any form of transactions with the 'threat' of being permanently banned. Nothing about the
item matched the supposed complaint yet Ebay stood by the anonymous complaint.
Been selling for 20+ years with a 100% rating.
Just to note, now that I am retired and can focus more on my online store I am aggressively
looking at other online commerce sites since Ebay has deteriorated to the point of yielding
to anonymous complaints and large outlet sellers who set up multiple shell accounts to hide
predatory activity on legitimate sellers.

·4 months agoYou had too many INR cases and refunding them does not change the fact that you had too many INR cases opened.
International sellers have BBE metric (bad buyer experience) and yours was too high
Sorry, but your days selling on eBay have ended

·4 months agoSorry but nobody from EBAY reads these posts. Unfortunately, when EBAY terminates your account that is permanent. You need to find another selling platform.
klhmdg
·4 months agoSince you are in Japan you have a BBE metrics -
BBE is very strict -
INR = unhappy customers and eBay doesnt look at how you "fixed" it, they look at it as this is a disappointed customer / buyer.
Refunding a customer doesnt negate the INR.
FB is not counted - Not even looked at. Doesnt matter.
No one from eBay is here and no one will be able to change eBays decision.
Im sorry you found out to late and didnt act quickly enough to save your account.
Hopefully you find another venu to sell on.
