1099 k So we missed a whole year of sales? I stopped selling do to this. So I missed out on sales.
This really caboshed my wanting to sell last year. I could have gone the limit of $20.000 but had to hire a tax man last year and it cost me $600.00 on used stuff

·3 years agoThis whole outrage and hysteria over 1099ks is baffling to me. Reporting income has been a part of my whole adult life. Why suddenly people feel it’s something new is strange. Even stranger is turning away money just to avoid the possibility of paying some percentage back in tax on that income.
Do people turn down jobs when they discover they get w2s and have to report them when they file their income taxes?

"it is only these eBay sellers who believe they are entitled to unreported and untaxed income."
You would be absolutely amazed at the number of people who refuse to work except for cash. In construction, agriculture, and the food industry, it is almost impossible to find labor and helper level people who are willing to work "on the books".

·1 year agoIt's not entitled sellers. These sellers your talking about, are selling household items, not making a living on what they sell. To 1099 people for garage sale items, and then have to pay cpa, is unreasonable. This will lose ebay millions. Sellers should be mad at Ebay, there greedy with there percentages, and customer service is non existent. Also when governments get greedy, and tax to much, people start to do things off the books. There needs to be more balanced approach. I won't be selling as many items on ebay. I'm going to short Ebays stock, they will be going DOWM. EBAY YOU SUCK.
