I have a serious problem with sending a Louis Vuitton purse for authentication for the simple fact how do I know the purse won't b switched out with a fake one . You can't even trust businesses anymore. So then the buyer gets refunded because eBay puts the money on hold and I get sent back a fake one while eBay makes off with an authentic one they switched out a fake one for. Also if I send out the dolce and Gabbana sunglasses to the buyer and the buyer says something is wrong with them and gets refunded because eBay keeps the money on hold and doesn't send the sun glasses back that are in perfect condition. So the buyer would get refunded and keeps the sunglasses not sending them back. Ebay seems to protect their buyers more than the sellers. The sellers are just supposed to trust the process while the buyers can get instant refunds while keeping said product .

So you sold the LV purse on the 14th ... so how did it go with Authentication? You only sold two items and have nothing else for sale. Were you planning to sell more or just those two items that you had??? Were they personal possessions of yours?
Yes, your funds will be on hold for 30 days which is standard practice for New Sellers and that would be regardless of successful delivery of the items in question. You can read about that here: Payments on hold | eBay

·1 year agoMy advice, As I've sold Michael Kors purses on here before, Don't send it to any company bring it in yourself in person otherwise you might be sent back a fake. I personally would go bring it to an appraiser myself if you're unable to tell if they authentic or not which if it's real you should be able to tell. Companies like that usually leave certain marks on their products so you can tell their authentic. Just try doing some online research or even just google pictures and look up the difference between a fake and a real one. There should be an inside tag branded with the name, mine had another marking on the zipper. Look all around, inside and out, in every pocket for markings and tags. Michael Kors had a leather marked tag on the inside of the bag and the zipper which was metal not plastic. you can easily figure things like this out online it just takes some time but I wouldn't send it to anybody to authenticate it I would only bring it in person that's just my suggestion.

IF the item sells on ebay it is ebay's policy to send to the authentication center.
That is what the buyer expects per the description on the listing.

·1 year agoAs the saying goes, "hindsight is 20/20" does not have to be your mantra. Breathe.
You have an opportunity and responsibility to yourself and those that you do business with to familiarize yourself with the pros and cons, of which there are many, with doing online sales.
Something that financially and emotionally stresses you may not be a healthy way for you to do business. Sending you all good things.

The time to worry about scams is before you list the items, not after you've sold them.
It would be nice if Ebay wouldn't let new sellers list expensive items until they get a little experience.

The authenticity program is terrific. I have sold handbags and fine jewelry and always been 100% satisfied with the services provided.

This isn't to say that the Authenticity Guaranteed program doesn't have problems but unless they make an honest mistake in sending the wrong item to the wrong buyer, they aren't going to switch your bag with a fake and send the fake to a buyer.
So if the bag passes (or passed) the authenticity inspection, you're out of the picture and in the clear. And because you have a "no return" policy, the listing even states, "This item is final sale and cannot be returned."
They ship the authenticated bag to the buyer and you never even see the buyer's address. (This is done to prevent sellers from circumventing the AG program.)
For sellers who do accept returns, if a buyer wants to return an item, it goes back to the authenticator where they verify that it's the same item, same condition and has all verification (tag from AG program) attached and included.
You sold that bag 5 days ago. You need to ship (or needed to ship) within your stated handling time.
Regarding the D&G sunnies, as a new and inexperienced seller, your expensive listing is apt to attract scammers who want to take advantage of your naivete and lack of knowledge of the workings of ebay.
Whether the glasses were "as described" or had a flaw as claimed by the buyer, when a buyer opens a not as described (NAD) return request, you must accept the return, pay for return shipping and issue a full refund upon receipt of the return.
If you didn't accept the return, buyers can ask ebay to step in and they issue the refund from your funds and let the buyer keep the item. You also get a ding on your account for not accepting the return.

You had more of a worry about selling without it and less protection before authentication.
Your items have sold. You either ship or cancel for Out of Stock.
If you cancel both of these sales, there is little chance you will sell on eBay for much longer.
