Marketplace connect - shopify inventory selling when out of stock

we use marketplace connect to sync our products from shopify to ebay
never had an issue before, now we have had over 8+ incidents in the last week, where an item is selling on shopify, it is not updating as out of stock on ebay and is available to purchase, leading to cancellations
this isnt a 10min -1hr delay, it is week+ and sporadic withno pattern except sold out items still being available
our seller level is dropping drastically, reducing the funds we are raising, ebay & marketplace connect have not been able to help

·3 weeks agohad the same issue. honestly i don't think ebay was the problem, it was the inventory sync between shopify and ebay. sold on shopify, still showing in stock on ebay, then had to cancel orders.
litcommerce and inkfrog are probably worth looking at for this. inkfrog was actually pretty good, but unfortunately they're shutting down :((((

·5 months agoThis is not surprising. Different software packages which are used to sync inventory between platforms have different latency times and some are more likely to exhibit selling ghost inventory.
If your inventory management software has provision for "safety stock" use that function. If it does not, find better software.

·5 months agothis is mostly a shopify issue and not a ebay issue.
Vendoo and Inkfrog faces same issues now and then. The platform constantly updates and these companies have to always try to catch up.
