Keeps starting at middle of page when listing a item
I am not sure what happened but whenever I list a item it now starts in the middle of the page (Description) instead of at the top of the page (Edit Photos). It is a minor thing as I can always scroll to the top of the page but it is a little irritating, is there a way to make it start at the top of the page?

·2 years agoI noticed the same too for the past few days. It is irritating. Need to scroll up to enter title which is the first thing I want to do. It's happening when using templates.

·2 years agoWas happening for me yesterday, but not today so far.
A useful keyboard shortcut to know: pressing the 'Home' key will scroll you back to the top of the page immediately (as long as the description isn't already selected).

·2 years agoI've been frustrated by this new feature recently too. I assume someone thought it would be helpful to skip to the product details window, when listing similar items. Unfortunately, it's about as well thought out as tools engineered by someone who's never actually done the job the product's intended for.
Another relatively recent pet-peeve is how the buyer has to scroll to the bottom of one to two screens of ads now (on a pc anyway), just to find the seller's item description. Ebay's virtually hiding critical product details from the potential buyer, just so they can squeeze more irrelevant advertising in. I really need to start looking for a better place to sell...

·2 years agoI like paying for my square footage of advertising space, so that I can present my product, and have everyother seller on Ebay jammed on the advertising space I pay for. Gee I hope I get my product splattered all over every other sellers page. 52 ads presented on every product page. 52, on every sales page we scrolled thru. Youtube sellers group has fun doing this pointless exercise, but if fees keep going up....... Ebay can squeeze that 53rd ad on my square footage.

·2 years agoAdding my voice, so that we can hopefully we can get a fix soon.
I'm using Chrome. So I don't know if its effecting other browsers as well.
I experience it when I "Sell Similar" and when I "Resume Drafts" (though it may happen other times two, but my workflow uses those most frequently
Page always opens at the "Condition / Description" section
My current workaround (which may help others) rather than SCROLLING all the way up, is hit the "Home" button my keyboard which should take you back up to the top of the page with a single keystroke

Thank you for sharing your workaround. It works great and so much better than scrolling back to the top of the page.

·2 years agoeBay, please address this issue ASAP. Most of us have a workflow that starts with uploading pictures first, adding or editing the title, and then working the information from those two items into our description.
Many times I will go back to reference the photos for information to use in the description, so it's rather important to have photos uploaded first.

·2 years agoI'm seeing this as well, very annoying to have to scroll up to edit or change images, titles and item specifics.
I see it on all devices desktop PC and laptop with Edge and Firefox, and iPad with Safari.

Any tickets open for this?

·2 years agoI guess ebay is not going to respond. It is very annoying. And it's happening across all platforms.

Hey @ebooksdiva! I do not currently see any tickets open on this but let me have this reported on my end and I will let you know if there any updates!

·2 years agoI noticed it too. But what I also noticed is when it opens at description, it has the prompt to use AI for the description. So, I think this is the way eBay is using to advertise using AI to write descriptions. Hopefully it is temporary, and will go away once eBay feels that AI has been widely advertised sufficiently.

·2 years agoVery annoyed by this today. I have a flow for how I list (as I assume everyone else does) and I start at title and work my way down (scroll back up and do pics last). It's a bit disruptive to keep starting in the middle of the page

·2 years ago@mcdougle4248 I haven't started a listing from scratch since...2013! So pretty much any way to create a listing starts at the description. Such an odd thing to start happening.

·2 years agoI only noticed it when I used sell one like this from another listing. Then I used one of my listings and hit sell similar--same thing.

I notice it when starting a new listing from scratch, using sell similar on one of my listings, and using one of my saved templates. That covers all the ways I create a new listing.

I am experiencing this, too. I have not found a solution either. It is annoying 😦

·2 years agoI noticed it yesterday for the first time. I am on a pc. not sure if this is yet another phone app change that has messed up the pc experience. Not a big deal, but what i would call another glitch probably due to a software update. You would think someone in software would be checking things before they are rolled out

·2 years agoThis also has started for me a few days ago. It is a little annoying as the first thing I do is upload photos and now have to scroll up to do it. I guess ebay wants you to write the description first??? I don't have a fix, I came here looking for a fix.
