Does eBay have a software glitch?
Does eBay have a software glitch?
I have 46 'This listing has a policy violation. It's hidden until you can fix it' in my active listings, due to having HTML links to my other eBay stores(NOT to any 'outside' links).
I've re-written my descriptions, removing all links, and revising my listings.....4 TIMES yesterday, and once today...and the policy violation listings ARE STILL THERE.
I Tried using eBay's AI assistant in re-writing one of the listings. It took it, saying 'your listing is now active', but when viewing it in 'active', it STILL shows as a policy violation.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!
This is my revised description for one of my listings(having removed all HTML links):

Store Shipping Policy:Due to items being 'lost in the mail', theft/damage, or eBay fraud, my store has a policy of only shipping up to $150 worth of items in any container, at any one time.
Due to COVID, the post office is being slow to deliver, and items 'lost in the mail', and my store policy, I can sell/ship only ONE high value item at a time. It's too great a risk to ship multiple high value items in the same box. Please DO NOT order more than ONE item at a time, every 40 days. If you are interested in multiple items, you must wait 40 days after receiving a item before ordering the next one, and so on.
To reduce eBay fraud, after sending payment, and before your item is shipped, you will be asked to verify the item purchased, the amount paid, and your shipping address as it appears on your eBay account. .
I have 55,000(over 32,000 comics) items to sell, as soon as eBay increases my limits, I will add them to my store....check back often.

And this is the newest AI assistant version:
The product is a trade dress variant cover for issue number 15 of the "Amazing Spider-Man" series by Tyler Kirkham, published by Marvel Comics. This variant features a vibrant and detailed design that sets it apart from the standard cover, making it a desirable collectible item for fans of the series. With the unique artwork by Tyler Kirkham, this variant is sure to be a standout addition to any comic book collection.
What is eBay seeing in these two listings that it thinks is 'Your listing didn't follow our Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay policy. Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay, including sharing direct contact information prior to an eBay purchase, is not allowed.'

OP1 year agoYes, I know, some listings are still showing the old descriptions with the links. It's the new listings that I have 'fixed'(some with the same description as before, but with no HTML links, and some with the description totally changed by the AI description), that are still being 'flagged'. I can't figure out what eBay is seeing. Of the original 46 violations, I've replaced 44 with the AI generated description, and it STILL finds the last 2 in violation. Arghhhhhh!!!!!

OP1 year agoHmmm....not sure what I did, but the last two listings are now 'live'

OP1 year agoThe weirdest thing is happening....I replaced my non-HTML description in one of my listings with the 'AI Description'...and eBay took it!
I tried 5 more(individually, as there wasn't a way to 'bulk edit' them), swapping out my old non-HTML for the AI generated description...and eBay took them also. But, I did notice that for two of those 6, I was charged a .25 listing fee(even though they were in my store, already being paid for via my store fee).
So, what does this mean....1) eBay seems to be 'pushing' the use of their AI generated description, and not allowing personal descriptions, and 2) charging more insertion fees for some of the revisions.
