AI can be a useful tool, depending on how you use it and what you use it for. It saves me time listing. For people who struggle with coming up with SEO titles, it can be extremely beneficial. I use CHATGPT. It is preprogrammed to provide me with a SEO title and a condition description. I simply go through my stack of items and dictate to it what the item is, any features, and the condition. When I'm done, I hit enter on what I've dictated and it immediately spits out titles and conditions for each item. I also have it set up to provide pricing guidance. It is nowhere near perfect, but a little more on point than eBay's provided guidance. It is not a substitute for doing your own research.
I do not use to to write flowery descriptions that sound like AI wrote it. This is because I don't utilize descriptions very much at all. I paste in the title and the condition statement. Anything more of that is a waste. This business is not trying to sell someone that they need this item. Good buyers (the kind we like) already know what they are looking for. Instead, the goal is sell someone that they need my item. That is done by providing details on condition through text and clear, close-up photos, being completive on price, and demoing the item in a video if it is something that moves, has sound, etc. (More sellers need to be doing this. Good buyers like to see what they are buying works!)
Very likely after Christmas, if not by Thanksgiving, I am going to begin to use a certain AI program that on the surface seems to do a good job at quickly listing like items. I'm in the process now of sorting my back stock of inventory into categories so that once I am through my one-offs, I can get those things on.
As a buyer it usually encourages me to move on to a different seller that will take the time to take their own photos and do their own description................................
Oh...If you were told you'd be paid for posting this, you were lied to.............................
