Need help! Shipping weight mistake - potential buyer waiting
Summary: sams_repeat_treasures is confused about USPS shipping rates, which are causing a potential sale issue due to a high shipping cost quoted to a buyer. They mention that the rate appeared as approximately $50.56, which is excessive compared to the item price, and have tried various zip code inputs to figure out accurate prices, noting inconsistencies in the calculated rates. They need to respond to the buyer by 11am EST to resolve the issue.
Hi,
I made a mistake and now the listing cannot be edited. I put in a crazy weight value and dimensions. I am still a newer reseller and this was one of my newer items that sat in draft for a while. It is now calculating plus $50 to ship this 4 lb package. What do I do? I have to get back to the buyer by 11am EST and I don't want to lose the sale.
The correct estimate is $10.00
Any help is appreciated and I know that I will NEVER make this mistake again.

·3 weeks agoHi Sam!
If the listing is active and already has a bid or offer, you can't edit the shipping details. Your best option is to message the buyer, explain that there was a shipping setup error, and let them know the correct shipping cost is around $10. If they haven't purchased yet, you can end the listing (if there are no bids), correct the weight and dimensions, and relist it. If they've already purchased, you can send them a revised invoice if applicable, or work with them to find the best shipping option. We've all made shipping setup mistakes when we were new, so don't beat yourself up!

OP2 weeks agoThank you so much. The potential buyer disappeared but I am grateful they called this to my attention. I am fixing my other listings when I can.
I am going to end the listing and relist. Zero views. :)
