Your not a true seller till a buyer screws you.
The issue is I miss labeled two packages and sent the wrong item to each. after apologizing I told both I would fix it. Both said some version of no problem. Sent return labels and the next day both had put there items in the mail. / I was unable to get to the PO to retrieve the mail until after ebays time limit said I had to give a refund or they would just do it, so I did. (I Know)
Next day you guessed it, one item was fine the other was swapped out with something different. So I don't know if there is anything I can do. but the more I research it the more questions I have.
1) Why does a buyer get 30 days to decide on a return and the seller gets 48 hours to give the money back?
2) Why does the buyer still get a 50% refund even if their the issue?
3) When Googling Macari vs Ebay the number one plus for ebay is that ebay has live support and Macari doesn't, but I cant find a number to call a live ebay support rep. Any suggestions?
Thank you

·5 months agoThis will sound harsh, but that buyer would not have had the opportunity to screw without your having made an error to begin with. And I know you'll learn from this experience.

·5 months agoOnly pack one item at a time. From start to finish. That way you will never mix up labels.

That is a solution which works for all who use it but there are solutions which are more efficient and work for many sellers but not all.
I generate my packing slips for multiple orders. I use them as a pick ticket to guide me to collecting the items.
When I have picked all of the items, I pack the items, fold the pick ticket and place it in the package. I then take a pen and write on the package the name of the buyer. I move on to the next order. Same process.
When the orders are complete, I generate the shipping labels.
I take the package for the first label, seal it and apply the appropriate label. Done.
It is still one at a time other than in the process where you can usually save some time and steps.
How did I come to do this, I screwed up two orders, just like the OP did.
P.S. when I still a young programmer, I worked for a company which built order processing, inventory management and warehouse management software. I must have been in 50 -100 of our customer's warehouses, and actually watched how they operated. Each of our systems was optimized to how the customer wanted to operate its warehouse. Some aspects of the operation were common to them all.

·5 months agoThis is so true ^. We have all done it, i did it many many years ago, so long ago i dont even remember how i fixed it, but it was in the days when emailed/invoiced/mailed checks. Now, one at a time.
But to your question, nothing you can do, your mistake, your expense...and i think that buyer who sent you back the wrong item drove that nail home!

·5 months agoActually, the buyer didn't screw you, you screwed yourself. And I say that as someone who has done this twice in 25 years. It was my mistake both times and once it worked out fine, both buyers sent the item to the other, the second AND LAST time one of them got an item that was much higher value and they kept it. Still, my mistake. Just own it and move on.

·5 months agoEbay sellers are responsible for the effects of any and all of their errors.
There is no forgiveness. There is no requirement that buyers help them deal with their errors.
Buyers have more rights than sellers under US and State Laws. Refunds must be done promptly and that time limit is unrelated to return periods.
Not every person is suited to running a retail business. Selling on Ebay is a retail business.

·5 months agoWhile buyers can file an item not as described and get a refund. There is no such case a seller can file. There is no I sent the wrong item and want it back case a seller can file. Got to check and recheck and check again before shipping.
So, no point in contacting eBay. They can't help.
