Wrong Item Received-International Buyer
Summary: shineydays4u shared a situation where an international buyer claimed to receive the wrong item, resulting in negative feedback. After contacting eBay, shineydays4u learned that the buyer must wait a certain period before initiating a refund claim. eBay suggested potentially providing a video of shipping preparations, which seemed unusual. Eventually, eBay removed the negative feedback, and the return process resolved without a refund responsibility for shineydays4u. Other participants discussed the policies and experiences related to eBay's International Shipping (EIS) method and the idea of using videos as proof.
So very odd...I have an international buyer who said she received the wrong item. I am 100% sure I mailed the correct item. She has left me a negative feedback. I have spoken with ebay. They've sent me the link to request negative feedback. I am waiting for a response. I have just been in touch with the buyer. She is frustrated that she can't start a refund claim. Apparently, she has to wait a certain about of days to file it.
Ebay has told me that if and when she does file a refund claim, I may have to supply a video of me preparing the box for delivery. Anyone EVER hear of such a thing!
Thanks for any guidance anyone can provide.

·Aug 14, 2026 at 5:54 PMCurious- you stated 'ebay told you'- was it a phone rep?
Video and Pictures are NOT accepted as ANY proof of anything as they can easily be of something else.
If you want a video of me packing a live giraffe I can give you that in about 60 seconds. Doesn't mean that's what I shipped out.

·Aug 13, 2026 at 8:59 PMIf the buyer claims to have received the wrong item, it is unlikely that you will be asked for pictures or any you provide will be viewed.
If you used any method other than EIS to ship, you will need to choose between providing a refund without a return or providing payment for return shipping from her country and refunding after the return.
If you used EIS, they should have already removed the negative FB. FB removal for EIS shipments is automated and FAST.
Consider only shipping internationally by EIS. If this was an EIS shipment, you would not be risking a refund or negative FB.
If you had a phone conversation with Ebay customer service, you probably wasted your time.

·Aug 13, 2026 at 10:13 PMWhy would you post that question?
Pretty sure we all know what this frustrated OP is going through.

·2 weeks agoOK, if you really think that is what the poster meant,.........
I suspect that most think that in haste and frustration that when posting that the OP left off the word "removal or the word revision"

·Aug 13, 2026 at 7:38 PM · EditedWhat was the shipping service used? Also - what the buyer claims to have received - have you been provided photos of that & did you EVER have that item in your inventory before?

OPAug 14, 2026 at 12:28 PMI have NEVER had the item in my inventory. (BTW, it was a pokemon card. Dang which I knew which one. LOL) Anyway update...yes, I contacted ebay. They have removed the negative. Yes, I used EIS shipping. Buyer has requested to return item. Happy ending, I am not responsible for the refund.
Thanks for the comments.

·3 weeks agoI tend to try & pry more info before fully replying. Hence the service question :D You got to the solution that way on your own :D ebay is 100% responsible once they accept & dispatch via EIS.
