Why do I have to end up screaming at eBay to get anything accomplished?
I returned an item to the seller, I used my own shipping label (half the cost of the one eBay offered). Tracking shows returned.
It's been 3 weeks. Each time I call I'm nice about it, but I got through the same hoops to provide the tracking number (no one's making note of it?). Each time they're "looking into it".
I finally had enough and it was no more Mr. Nice Guy. I don't swear and I'm not rude, but I had to raise my voice and phrase things as statements vs questions. It gets me a useless "supervisor" who doesn't know what's going on, doesn't care to listen and just hangs up!
Very frustrating! Worse than calling PayPal! I'm on the wrong fee tier, I'll need to someone discuss that with a "supervisor", cause I'm clearly paying too much.

·3 years agoLet me guess, you contacted the seller, who just told you to send it back without ever opening a MBG case?

·3 years agoI wouldn't make the same guess.
"I returned an item to the seller, I used my own shipping label (half the cost of the one eBay offered)." <-- To me that indicates a buyer-paid remorse return, and buyer opted to use a more affordable shipping option than buying the label through eBay.

·3 years agoYou MUST upload the tracking number you used to the return request that you opened. Once that's done, you have proof of the return delivery.
If you didn't do that, there is no proof that you returned the item, so the case is closed in the seller's favor!
So if that return request is still open, you need to upload that tracking number!
Yelling at anyone rarely gets us the results that we desire. You accomplished nothing.
My question to you is… why are you not going back to your return request and clicking “ask eBay to step in Then you probably would get your refund, because that how it works.
As you found out having a rep call you only to have you scream at them is counterproductive, IMO
I would’ve hung up on you too.
ETA.. You bought your own return label? Did you upload it into the case? Because as far as eBay is concerned, if you didn’t use the label provided there is no record on the return request of you ever shipping the item back.
Ran out of time to include if there is no record in the return request showing you returned the item, the return request will close and no refund will be issued.
All this because you didn’t use the label that the return request provided.

·3 years agoOf all the times I've talked to ebay on the phone, as helpless as many of them were to me, none of them ever just hung up on me.

·3 years agoWhy were you returning? If it was because the item was NAD, you could have opened a return case and your seller would have been required to send a prepaid return label.

·3 years agoHey, there should never be a need to scream. Sorry to hear you're encountering less than helpful reps.
As you've tried to go the traditional CS route, at this point I suggest contacting eBay CS reps on social (ebay on facebook or askebay on twitter).
Send them a DM and explain your situation:
Please help me escalate this situation and process the refund.
You'll get an auto-reply then usually within 24 hours you'll get a reply from an actual person with a link for you to verify your account, and once you verify your account the CS rep will help. Good luck @clsmooth2, let us know what happens.
