Why do buyers have a full MONTH to return something they changed their mind about buying?
My buyer wants to return an item that she decided didn't fit her needs. At least she was honest -- unlike other returns, she did not pretend it was not as described or flawed in some way. She freely admits that she just changed her mind. BUT -- why do buyers get a full month to return something? It was delivered 9/14 and according to the return she opened, she has until 10/15 to START the return process, which means I won't receive it back for at least a week after that date.
I am required to ship purchases within 24 hours. Yes, I know some sellers take longer, but they don't typically take a MONTH. Why do buyers, who have opened a return, then get to sit around for a whole month before they get on with it? Meanwhile, I could be relisting and selling my item.
It's bad now, but during the Christmas shopping period, something like this can really screw sellers over. Sell a seasonal item, and you don't get it back until well after the season is over.

·3 years agoThey get 6 months if they use a credit card - resign yourself. The best part of that is you have to pay for Ebay to fight on your behalf LOL!

OP3 years ago“Pretend†is key though. I generally sell vintage/used items. In most cases i have only one of whatever it is. Buy it, file a return, then wait a month to actually send it back and the whole process takes my item out of inventory for 6 weeks. Plus how is the item treated when it’s sitting in limbo all that time?

·3 years agoEbay Buyers actually have a little over ~3 weeks to get a carrier scan on a return. I would not ever expect it to get any shorter since AMZ allows 30 days which is more the norm.

·3 years agoBecause ebay wants to pretend to be actual retail, they are enforcing actual retail returns policies upon its users. Most online places have the 30 days rule - its not unique to ebay.
