Where's the Refund eBay?
eBay says a refund of $1,477.61 was issued on a return on 12/19/2023, but to this day no credit has appeared in my bank. My bank says there were 2 credit attempts were made on 12/19/2023 but refund wasn't accepted because the info provided didn't match exactly, specifically, the expiration date on the debit card. eBay says it's an automated process so info should match the info in my payment settings. My bank says someone entered expiration date of 2049 on return. No card expiration date could be that far out so it's like the person refunding really doesn't want to refund. What to make of all this?

OP2 years agoMore critics here than any help. They love to wander into everything except the issue on hand. It was 12/12 when I initiated a return request and eBay suspended this seller probably because they weren't able to collect funds from him. On 12/19 eBay unsuspend him and made 2 attempts to refund with the wrong card expiration date of 12/49. No credit and debit card has such an advance expiration date. On 12/26, I spoke with eBay and my bank twice. On 12/27 eBay made another refund attempt with the same wrong card expiration date. My bank says it's not unusual for larger refunds to be processed manually so whoever is processing the return is entering the wrong expiration date. Payment info in my account is correct or else are my purchases still going thru. Purchases yay, refunds may!

·2 years agoI don't think eBay is for you. Maybe not online selling at all. If I had this many problems, I would stop using this site after I got this refund.

·2 years ago@neosa-10 Your feedback left has an extreme amount of red in it... maybe you need to reconsider who you are buying from or make more purchases in-store if at all possible.
I don't understand how the expiration date on your refund would have been altered if that's possible... if it is it wouldn't have anything to do with your seller because they would never have access to your card information. Keep contacting eBay CS and see if they can delve deeper into the matter... and ask your bank to provide any images they can of the card number the refund was sent to including the expiration date and security code.

Maybe someone can assist you if you contact eBay through the Facebook account? Have not done that myself, but seems members have reported better luck resolving issues that way then chat/phone. Worth a try.

·2 years agoEdison hung up on me, your bank seems stupid. When I'm making a deposit and the teller says show me your ID, I say no show me your ID I'm giving you money. The details are not relevant when eBay is putting $1,477.61 back on your card.
You asked Where's the Refund eBay? and eBay has already tried repeatedly to refund, so this is on you.
