When does the clock start ticking for the 3-day INAD window?
Hi,
I'm in a niche where the INAD return window was just reduced from 30 days to 3 days, which is a very short amount of time given that sometimes people travel.
If I put my mail on hold, does my 3 days start when the item is received and held at the post office or only when I collect the mail?
I know that it is the former as a seller, but an agent told me it was the latter as a buyer, which seems incorrect.

OP1 week agoWell, that's the question.
When mail is held, it says "mail held at customer's request" or similar, and as a seller, that is considered delivered.
But an Ebay agent just told me that it is only considered delivered for the INAD window after actual physical receipt. The opposite.
I guess I was hoping to see if anyone had held their mail, received something, and still successfully done an INAD. Bit of a longshot, I realize.

·1 week agoSince a buyer has 30 days after receipt to open an item not as described case, and can open the NAD case the minute he receives the item, not sure how a few days would matter. Do you have occasions to have your mail held as long as 30 days?

·1 week ago@soh.maryl OP post they stated they were in the '3 day' INAD system (meaning a 'trading card' which does NOT have 30 days, but just 3).

·1 week agoHeld mail is weird at the USPS - counts for them as a limbo. It doesn't truly count as "delivered". It is returned if it times out for parcels & discarded or returned for other metered postage items based on their normal policy. What others consider it is up to each individual business.
I can offer that Bing AI returned content from Reddit: "In short, eBay only considers USPS mail as delivered when USPS’s own system confirms it has been delivered — “Held” status means it’s not yet delivered, and eBay will not update the status until that changes." Based on what I've read in the past, it sounds consistent with how ebay has reacted for other status messages from USPS - relying upon what the carrier labels it for a decision.

Without tracking I would assume estimated date of arrival.
Most in my category do not use tracking for cheapo items and those who use ESE with the tracking...that's like Russian Roulette where sometimes tracking works and sometimes it doesn't.
