OP2 years agoThank you to all who attempted to help. I was able to get info I needed, and will be able to satisfactorily resolve this situation. I've been selling on ebay for over 23 years, a lot has changed during this time, and I don't list near as much as I used to, there was a mistake made by ebay that caused my initial complaint from buyer, and things got worse because buyer didn't communicate and try to resolve the issue., but thankfully I was able to find contact info and get the help I needed.

·2 years agoIt sounds like you reached an understanding eBay rep @countrycottagecrochet they said to accept the return, refund the buyer after it arrives back, then file an appeal because you're covered. Is that what happened?

No matter how you slice it, eBay will look at it as a "he said, she said" scenario and side with the buyer.
I would not waste time trying to get eBay's attention.

·2 years agoWas this for the item you received a negative for? What is the false claim? If you did not mail the item out until 6 days after your handling time, the buyer does have a right to be upset, especially if you didn't contact them as soon as you realized that you couldn't ship in time. I don't know the reason for the delay but if you keep a buyer informed, they can be more understanding.
If the buyer is asking for a refund you can either refund them in full without asking for a return. Or you can ask them to open a return request. Since the item was late in arriving you will have to pay for return shipping and refund in full once you receive the item back. If you contest a return and ask ebay to make the decision, you will lose both the item and the money.

·2 years agoIf you don't want to refund the buyer for the 12 eggs, just wait the 3 business days until next week.
Then click Ask eBay to step in to directly contact eBay to resolve the situation and force a full refund including the original shipping with no return needed.
