What happens when customer opens a claim for item not received after 90 days
I have a eBay member message me yesterday saying they did not receive their item. This was a hot item for Christmas and they are just telling me now after 90 days has lapse over. I have no intention on crediting this person

·5 months ago@theshack08 Don't panic. Don't listen to those who tell you the buyer will run to Paypal or their bank. They might, but that's not a guarantee and you sure do not want to suggest they do that.
"Dear Buyer, I am sorry you did not receive your order. eBay shows the item was delivered. Although I cannot refund you since we are too far past the delivery date, I'm happy to help you attempt to locate it. It is possible your carrier took the item to a neighbor. On occassion this can happen. I recommend checking with your neighbors. If that does not pan out, you may check with your local carrier who delivered it to see if they still have a record of where it was delivered. Sincerely, Seller"

·5 months agoWhat happens @theshack08 is you'll lose the claim
-- if it's opened at PayPal within 180 days,
-- or as a chargeback for GOODS NOT RECEIVED,
especially if your tracking number has been recycled and now shows a different delivery, or if the tracking number has expired.

·5 months agoThe buyer may not be able to open an item not received case through eBay after 90 days have past.
However, the buyer can still open a dispute through their payment source.
