Warranty on my Google pixel5a
I purchased Google Pixel 5a from eBay on 6th Feb 23 The product was eBay Refurbished with one year warranty. On 23rd August 23 I found a blue spot on screen and it gradually spread all over the screen. i contacted the seller yywirelesss. The seller replied that he can't do anything and I have to file the claim through Allstate. I logged in to squaretrade using the same email Id that I used at the time of purchase (that also has the order confirmation email), but it says that there are no plans associated with this email. I clicked on Find Plan button and selected Plan purchased at : eBay but again I got similar message. Kindly help

·2 years agoDid you happen to get the Allstate email that they also send out separately? If no, just follow the instructions from: Refurbished Program Warranty :
Do I need to register my Allstate-backed warranty provided by eBay?
Your warranty is automatically registered with Allstate at the time of purchase. The warranty is included with the purchase of an eBay Refurbished item and you will receive a separate email with details of your warranty.
What if I didn’t receive a confirmation email from eBay with my warranty details?
The eBay Refurbished badge can act as proof of warranty when paired with a receipt. If you need to file a claim, contact Allstate directly and be prepared with the following: item receipt (including order number), order confirmation email showing the eBay Refurbished badge, and a link to the original listing.
How do I file an eBay Refurbished warranty claim?
You can file a claim 24/7 by accessing the “My Warranties†section of the Allstate website. You can also easily view and manage your plan. Should you need to file a claim within the coverage period, sign in using your email address associated with your eBay account and your order details should be available. Still have questions? Visit Allstate’s Help page.
What if I have more questions about the eBay Refurbished warranty?
See full Terms & Conditions of the Warranty Contract, or contact SquareTrade, an Allstate Company, at SquareTrade.com. There are agents available 24/7 that are always happy to assist you.
You have to deal with Allstate via the help agents. It's totally in their hands sadly as that is what you purchased.

OP2 years agoI didn't got any separate email from Allstate regarding warranty. I got only one email from eBay after purchase titled: Your order is confirmed for Google Pixel 5A 5G
The page you listed says that i have to do nothing to register the warranty.
As I said in my first message when I am trying to file the claim, my product/plan is not listed there.

·2 years agoYour Feedback, that links directly to your user profile, indicates you are based in India. I missed that in my first attempt to assist you.
You are not eligible for goods or services coverage as that coverage is exclusively for transacted items in the United States only. This is not exclusive to ebay. It would be in effect upon all web sites outside of India. It's a very common practice as they have no way of resolving your issues internationally. The direct response would be: "Why did you purchase something never intended for sale in your marketplace?"
Purchase it within India if you want warranty coverage that is valid. Also - read that fine print for eligibility in the future - the stuff most people skip over.

·2 years agoJust to be clear, you didn't buy "from ebay." You bought the item from a seller who sold it on ebay.
I don't know how the "ebay refurbished" program works but when buying on ebay, it's important to check sellers' feedback.
Did you happen to look at the seller's feedback? Would you have purchased from a seller who has 98% feedback and received over 200 negs and over 300 neutrals in the past year?
This isn't intended to blame the victim but we really need to do our homework if we're spending our hard-earned money with strangers.

OP2 years agoDear albertabrightalberta, I am sorry for that, yes I bought from the seller through eBay. At the time of purchase I researched a lot (to my capability). At the time of purchase the seller was having 98.7% positive feedback and I read a lot of feedback also.
received over 200 negs and over 300 neutrals in the past year
I didn't counted this.

·2 years agoAlthough 98.7% is a great score on a high school or college exam, it's not a great feedback score.
As for the over 200 negs and over 300 neutrals in the past year, it's not necessary to count them. It's right on the seller's feedback page:

OP2 years agoThe product listing at the time of purchase says that the product is covered with one year warranty. The attached files (first is screenshot of listing at the time of purchase, and second one is of email I got) mention the warranty that I got at the time of purchase.

·2 years agoI'd be contacting ebay and asking why Allstate won't honor the warranty ebay stated you would get with the purchase.

·2 years agoJust who offered the warranty? Did you purchase a warranty? If so you would have had to pay a fee for it.
If it was the seller that offered the warranty you have to deal with them. If you paid by credit card, contact your card company about their policy.
