This should be a NAD/return worth fighting for...right?
Buyer purchased a brand new, sealed Walthers Cape Cod House HO Kit. They opened a NAD/return because the parts were not painted as shown on the front of the box. Box states plastic glue, modeling knife and acrylic paint are required for completion. The pictures in this message were provided in the listing.
I can't remember the last time I dealt with a NAD/return. The only seller options are to accept the return or offer a full/partial refund. If I escalate this case pointing out that the package states that paint is required to complete this kit, will ebay close the case in my favor? I understand I will probably have to chose one of the provided options, just wondering what the chances are of a favorable outcome. Thanks for any responses.

You apparently sold the item under another account … so we cannot read exactly what the listing says.
If you ‘cannot remember’ the last time you dealt with a NAD return … then you are doing remarkably well. Don’t push your luck!
Either provide buyer with a prepaid shipping label OR a full refund. Attempting to fight a return would be foolhardy. I ‘m sorry. ☹️

·5 months agoIf your looking to fight a NAD - you already lost. They are 100% in the sellers favor. Just a matter of how many times you wanna pay them.

·5 months agoI think you meant to say, “They are 100% in the buyer’s favor”. 😉

Wrong.

·5 months agoIt does say right on the front of the box " shown assembled and painted" right where the sidewalk is.
Still, the buyer is always right on eBay. Don't try fight it. You could highlight the photo that says shown assembled and painted and message that to your buyer.
On the other hand your lucky the buyer is not taking you to court over the fact they can't move into that house they bought. Sheeze........

·5 months agoReturn for a refund. Unless you don't want the item back, then just refund.

If you want it returned before refunding, you don't want to fight it.
Accept the return and provide a shipping label.

OP5 months agoBeen around for awhile, I know the drill and will act before ebay's step in date. For entertainment purposes I might call and see if I have a case. Imagine someone selling something like this and a buyer files a NAD/return because the internal contents did not look like what is pictured on the box.

·5 months agoNever mind what it said on the box, what did your listing say?

·5 months agoEscalating is for buyers only. Any seller that does just expedites the refund to the buyer.
That is know is 'fine print' and NOT something that ebay holds buyers accountable for (heck, even LARGE print).
You have 2 choices on an NAD
1.) Refund without paying the return shipping nor expecting the item back.
2.) Issue a label (you pay return shipping) and refund when you receive it.
End of story.
