"Stuck in loop: Seller claimed they sent a label but there is no label to print."
I am being scammed by a seller who told ebay that he had issued a return label for a faulty product which I had bought.
I am therefore being asked by ebay to take action - ie print off the label & return the item - which I can't do as I don't have the label,
this is also over-riding the " ask ebay to step in & help " option.
I have mailed/messaged the seller several times all without response - what can I do ?

·2 weeks agoDid you open an official 'return'??
If so, What reason did you use?
Does original listing state it 'accepts returns'?

OP2 weeks agoI opened an official return on sunday / no communication to me from seller , but he has told ebay that he has sent return label, & ebay have now told me to print off label & return product, which I obviously can't, but by doing this he has effectively over-ridden the " ask ebay to step in " facility, because ebay think I've got a lebel & therefore see no problem & ask me to take the next action

·2 weeks agoHow long ago did you make the purchase?
Although the item may have a 2-year warranty, the "warranty" on ebay is only 30 days. If you received the purchase over 30 days ago, you're SOL.

OP2 weeks agoebay have agreed to the return - the seller has also agreed - but by falsely claiming to have sent me a return label, he has totallt over-ridden all of the ways that ebay system allows me to action the return & is just waiting until my return window expires - 6th october

·2 weeks ago@shire123 Since OP did open official return and used 'defective' as reason, would not matter what listing states as far as returns.
@paul61330 There is no 'gaurantees' on ebay, no matter what a listing says. In fact, most ALL manufactures only honor 'guarnatees' when purchased from one of their approved sellers and almost ALWAYS do NOT honor when they are purchased on Ebay, Amazon, Craigslist etc. (simply because it could be a 'used' one or a 'returned' and already credited one that a retailer was supposed to 'destroy in field' but instead, load on pallet and sell the pallet, which retailer is NOT supposed to do.
What I don't know, is when I get a return, it asks for me to 'provide a label' or have 'ebay provide' which I always choose the latter...I'm wondering if a seller has to 'prove' or 'show' a label being sent??

OP2 weeks agonot sure I'm being clear - ebay authorised the return of a fully reconditioned part with a 2 year guarantee - the seller, by telling ebay that he has sent a postage label has effectively stopped me from asking ebay to step in - because ebay are now waiting for me to print off the label & return the item.
I cannot find any way of actually communicating this situation to ebay.
tried asking virtual assistant to get an agent to phone me - was told 31 minutes - 17 hours ago

·2 weeks agoNo @paul61330 it's us, it seems we're obtuse. Just leave a BRIEF message for eBay at http://instagram.com/ebay then sign in and type Done, like this:
Eventually eBay will review your message, and you should be good to go.

·2 weeks ago · Edited@stainlessenginecovers I disagree with your comment to @shire123 . You are correct in that eBay's return policy overrides the sellers in a general sense; however, buyers are free to open returns beyond the 30-day MBG. I offer 30-day free returns, but have had buyers open returns at 60 days. eBay allows them to do this, and there is a red alert at the top of the return that informs sellers the return is outside the 30-MBG window and the seller does not have to take the return. They seller can also say they've provided a return label, but since the 30-day MBG has lapsed, the buyer has no way to enforce this.
@paul61330 has not answered when the bought the item. They say in one post the warranty is on a reconditioned part with a 2 year guarnatee. I think that is the warranty provided through All State. If that's the case, they will need to go through All State and not the seller if the 30-Day MBG has elapsed. We don't know if has because the OP has refused thus far to provide that information. If it has, it does not matter whether the seller says they sent a return label or not. To the OP, can you inform us when you purchased the item. Thanks.
