Sterling Silver Bowl Return
I sold this very expensive sterling silver large bowl in excellent condition, the buyer claims it was damage during shipping due to poor packing and box.....Here are the pictures where the base of the bowl is separated from the bowl. It's so very hard for me to beleive this since the bowl is in perfect condition with no dent or damage.
Every item I sell is packaged with the utmost care to guarantee its safe arrival, my feedback can confirm it. This item was perfectly packed and wrap tightly with double bubble, also used packing paper to line the box. How could the base separated from the bowl? The bowl was wrapped around twice! It doesn't make sense to me, I see it as an intentional damage. Eventhough this buyer has 100% feedback.
The package was fully insured with signature required and was left with individual. This is really an unusual situation, since I’m sure you would not accept a damaged box yourself—particularly when signing for it.
Ebay is recommending me to accept the return and once I receive the item back, I will have the option to dispute the damage with eBay. Until then, the payment will not be removed from my account and that I will probably can win the case and keep the money and the item too.....Is this true?????

·11 months agoI don't know how it got damaged but it does look like damage that can be fixed. I can't really tell by the pictures but if the bowl is still round and not bent into say an oval shape the repair shouldn't be really hard.
If you don't have the wherewithall to fix it ask a jewler for advice on a silversmith available or if they can do it.
As others have noted accept the return and get your bowl back and hope it doesn't incur more damage on the return trip.

"No returns" doesn't necessarily mean "no refunds," so it's very possible for the buyer to receive both a refund and keep the bowl.

·11 months agoSilver like that is easy to damage. It needs a good four inches of bubble wrap around it and it has to be double boxed with bubble wrap between the boxes. Packing paper offers almost no protection.
You need to issue a paid return label and gave them return it. You then give a full refund when you get it back. If you don't , eBay will refund for you on your dime and yes they will get to keep it for free. You also will be charged the selling fee.
It looks like shipping damage to me. It happens.
