Should I refund this seller?
So I sold an item. Upon looking at the listing. I put the word “second†for I don’t know what reason on it. The buyer wants a refund because they thought they were buying season 1.
the pictures clearly show it’s for season 1.
should I refund the buyer? I messed up by putting the word second on there for some reason

Any and all contradictions in a listing always will be considered 'the sellers fault' with respect to a buyer winning a return request.
Whether you refund the buyer ... OR provide the buyer with a prepaid shipping label to return the item before you refund them ... is up to you. [I'm assuming that the buyer received the item and opened a 'return request'. If you didn't ship the item yet ... then of course you refund the buyer ASAP.]
What's important is that you respond to the return request (with a refund OR the shipping label) BEFORE eBay is brought in to the case. If eBay gets involved ... then eBay will refund the buyer with your money and let them keep the item. They'll also add a 'defect' to your account AND keep your fees.

·1 year ago@suns_193 , you need to get your stuff together. Not only is the listing confusing, so is your post. S L O W D O W N...and double-check your listings. We all make errors sometimes, but because I find your original post confusing as well, I question if this is typical for you. I do not want to see you have issues in the future, so go back through all of your listings and make sure there are not any errors.
I can't really give much more advice than this, because I am unclear what item you were intending to sale or whether you've already shipped the item. I'm not sure what is going on. You say the buyer "thought they were getting season 1." You say the photos show season 1. Your title does state Season 1, but you mistyped and put the word "second" instead of "first" in the title. It seems the buyer got or will get exactly what they wanted: Season 1. I'm not sure what the issue is, unless the buyer has the item and they are lying by saying you actually sent Season 2, perhaps using your typo as a means to lie about what season you actually sent. I hope you come back and clarify this stuff.

·1 year agoOK, now I'm confused.
If you were actually selling season one, and the buyer purchased it, thinking it was season one, and it actually was season one, why would they complain if they got what they wanted?

·1 year agoThat is the part that confuses me unless they are not understanding that they ARE getting season 1 and seller just listed it as season 2 in more than one area.
Did you explain the error to your buyer?

·1 year agoJust refund them as it sounds like you haven't shipped yet, if you push it then you stand a chance of them opening an INAD case and then you will have to refund in full plus pay to get it back.

·1 year agoYes...could this ever be a 'repeat buyer'?
You sell items in the same category.
Have you ever had a buyer purchase more than once?
A happy buyer is a returning buyer.
Can you offer buyer something else in your stock instead of a refund?
Try working it out with the buyer first.
Maybe get a nice feedback as well.

OK, I give, what did they get, or did you "typo" here as well?

·1 year agoAlong with that your title says "Should I refund this seller?"
So are you the Seller or the Buyer?
If they thought they were buying Season 1 and you are selling them Season 1 then explain to them you typo and see if they still want it, if not cancel and refund.

·1 year agoPICTURES..... DESCRIPTION...... doesn't mean beans. If you know there was a 'conflict' or 'error' why in the WORLD would you 'stick to your guns' and try to 'force feed' this buyer??
Cancel/refund per the 'buyer wants to cancel' and be done.
Oh, and FIX your listing!!

·1 year agoMy question is: Why would there be any other option than refunding?

·1 year agoIf you have conflicting or incorrect information on the listing, Ebay will rule in favor of the buyer.
No point in refusing to take the item back, at your cost and refund in full. You will get the item, and have the fees refunded. If you decide to fight, Ebay will decide in favor of the buyer, and you will loss the item and the payment. And you will not get the fees back.
You can't explain why you typed the wrong info. But it would not matter if you could. Apologize and start the return process.

·1 year agoSorry, can't help you.
This should be an interesting discussion as it relates to another one here about accurate descriptions and accurate pictures, and how both are vital.
In this case, they conflict.
Will eBay pick the incorrect description as a valid reason for a return, or will they pick the correct picture and tell the buyer to take a hike?
Stand-by for eBay experts to help here ...

You can Cancel the order, which will initiate a refund. Revise, relist, rest up. Good luck.
