sellers with a location that doesn't match mailing address - issue with INAD
I'm a relatively new seller. Doing well and I understand that sometimes things just don't work out. Is there a way to identify when a buyer lists a location overseas but has a US address? Short story is that it has happened twice where a buyer purchases an item and I send it to the address provided. Tracking shows that the item arrived within the expected delivery window. Everything seems fine until about the 60 day mark when I get a message that the item isn't as described.
I don't offer returns but realize that eBay will always land with the buyer. What has happened now - twice - Is that I offer a return. They want a refund. I would rather get the item back. They are out of my own collection. They then start to tell me that they "travel" extensively and won't be back to the US soon.
Each time, the buyer is fairly aggressive that I should offer a full return to them or eBay will make me do it anyway. So far, eBay has sided with me. I figure it is just a matter of time that they don't.
Any suggestions other than my husband's advice that I should just refund the money, block the buyer, and move on.

·1 year agoIt sounds like your item is being purchased by a customer using a freight forwarding service. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that....
That being said, it is on the buyer to get the return initiated back to you if you choose to accept it (after the 30-day mark)
You strictly communicate only the directives to establish a return. No other communicatons...don't waste your time exchanging "niceties".....
Do not refund without your item in hand......
Most the reports we see on this scenario is that ebay "has your back" in this scenario

·1 year agoDo not refund without getting your item back! Ever!! You are setting yourself up for scammers if you do. Just tell them to file for a return and that as soon as you get the item back you will refund their money. Do not negotiate, do not give a partial refund.
Also, add the to your blocked bidder list.
