Seller wouldn't accept return for damaged item, I opened case, wanted item back after case closed
Odd situation here, or maybe it isn't. A seller sent me an item that was heavily damaged and told me I could return it. I requested the return and it was ignored. I reached out to the seller several times with no response for about a week. I then filed a case to Ebay and they said they would refund me and I could keep the item. Ebay refunded me, and low and behold I get a message from the seller two weeks later asking me to return the item. I have no problem returning it, however, I don't know if Ebay collected from them ultimately. It would only seem right that they don't keep the money I originally sent if I return the item. Also, I can't initiate a return through ebay because the case was already closed and the item is listed as refunded. Any input would be helpful.

Do whatever you like.
Thow it in a lake, shoot it from a cannon, donate it, keep it, ship it back on your dime or go round and round with the seller so they can paypal you money to ship it back.
Me? I'd just BBL them and pitch it.

This should give a lesson to the seller to respond to claims and refund buyer and send a return shipping label.
I would ignore seller emails. The seller did not do the right thing to begin with.

The seller can send you a prepaid shipping label if you're willing to return it.
Yes, Ebay refunded you from the sellers account and gave them a defect for not handling the return.

·2 years agoIf you've been refunded, you're whole... anything you do would be over and above. If the seller wanted the item back, they could have approved a return shipping label. If your seller wants the item back now (and you're willing to accommodate the seller), the seller can send you the funds to return the item.
