seller wont refund

bought a item and found out it was defective. the return window passed but the seller said its ok to ship back. been 4 months and no refund. filed with paypal, ebay and both sighted with them. almost 1000. do i get a lawyer or just show up at the business? i have all the emails showing he said send it back.

·3 weeks agoeBay always sides with the buyer. ALWAYS. Don't know about what happened in this case except you have to do what needs to be done within that two week window. Its best to be the buyer on eBay when you HAVE to not the seller.

Did you learn that the item was defective right after receiving it?
Or did it break after the 30-day MBG expired?
If the former, why did you wait so long to file a claim?
if the latter, the seller was not obligated to accept the return.
But.......
If you have documentation from the seller (emails, texts, ebay messages) promising a refund upon receipt of the returned item, you could have a strong small claims case.
But depending on the amount of money involved, it may not be worth a case that would involve traveling to the buyer's state and pleading your case.
How much did the defective item cost?

OP3 weeks agoI have all the emails and records of everything. The unit looked fine but when my plumber came to hook it up found the damage on the inside. The listing says slight damage to the outside with nothing about the inside. It was past the 30 day return but he agreed to take it back. Can I post somewhere on ebay calling the business out?

·3 weeks ago · EditedIf you were denied by Ebay, Paypal and your credit card then there may be little chance at court either. Your issue is a civil matter and it more than likely will not be worth a lawyers time. You are out of luck. You will not be receiving a refund.

Contact your payment source and see if they can do anything.

Try small claims court, it's cheaper.

·3 weeks agoYou had 30 days after receipt to open an item not as described case with eBay. Failing that, your card you paid with will usually give more time, some as long as 180 days. Have you explored that option?
