Seller Not Making Return Easy
A seller got nasty with me and I initiated a return. They offer 60 day returns and seller pays for shipping. Now they are not working with me very well to return the item. Ebay stepped in initially because the seller refused to pay shipping. Now, we can't agree or facilitate the return shipping specs. The item was a trading card, and I wanted to do flat rate small box because it includes tracking as well as insurance. The seller says it should only cost $2-$7 to ship and to just use an envelope. It is going from the US to Japan. I am afraid of being scammed because the seller already said he would not refund if the item was not returned in "perfect condition." If I do an envelope I won't be able to cardboard protect and bubble wrap the card. That's normally how I ship cards because they arrive perfectly every time.
Furthermore, how do we initiate the exchange of money? He cannot ship a label because he is an international seller. I asked for his email so I can send the paypal invoice, but he refused. He stated, "This is the address you need to send money with paypal," in an ebay message. He didn't actually include an email address though. Is there a way to do paypal requests through ebay?
I am sick of dealing with this, as it is taking a ton of effort and time. I feel like if this guy has to pay expensive return shipping, he is going to claim the card is not in the same condition to save himself money, even though it will be. Am I doomed to return this card, and not get a refund too? This is shenanigans.

·3 years agoIn your experience, after you read the eBay Money Back Guarantee, are you able to ask eBay to step in
1. if a case iniated for a return, where
2. seller pays return shipping
has not been opened?
And from reading that eBay MBG
1. the buyer will get a refund even if the returned item never arrives
2. if the seller paid for untracked return shipping:
So if eBay has given the seller 5 days @trainer-phoenix to arrange for return shipping, and neither a PayPal payment for return shipping, a PayPal address for you to invoice for payment for return shipping, or a prepaid return label to Japan has happened, go back and get eBay to step in again.
Otherwise, leave a private message here for eBay on Facebook (or open an account to contact eBay) and tell eBay that you did not get a PayPal email address to invoice for TRACKED return shipping, and eBay will place the case on hold for 5 days to allow the seller to either refund outright with no return needed, or send a cash payment to pay for return shipping. If neither happens after 5 days, eBay will step in again to refund.
