Returns Process
Hello all, looking to learn as I have never had an issue before buying at eBay. Received the wrong item and start it the return process, I contacted the seller, and he agreed for me to return the item. But, now he says he is waiting for eBay to send him a notification of the return, do this just happen automatically once I am done with my part with for the process?, any help will be greatly appreciated.

·4 months agoNo need to contact the seller. Open an item not received case and follow the prompts.
Please read the Money Back Guarantee for further details.

·4 months agoNo, they should not open an Item Not Received case. They will lose that, because they did receive something - it is just the wrong thing. They need to open a return and select the reason, "Received Wrong Item." That will fall under Item Not As Described. The seller will have to either issue a refund or provide the buyer with a return shipping label. If they fail to do either within 3 business days, the buyer can have eBay step in.

·4 months agoThanks for pointing that out. Have no idea what's going on with me today. Have given several bad answers. Maybe I need a break?

·4 months agoDid you actually open a return request? (If not, you need to).
Has the seller sent you an ebay generated return shipping label through ebay? If yes, then return it. If not, then wait 3 days and go back to the return request and ask ebay to "step in".

If you have actually opened an official eBay return, the buyer is expected to send you a prepaid return label within a few days.
If you do not receive the prepaid return label within a few days, request eBay to step in, and eBay will force the return from the seller -- you may actually not even need to return the item, while being refunded in full.

·4 months agoHow long ago did you open the item not as described case with eBay?
If you've not heard from the seller in 3 days, you can return to the case on day #4 and request that eBay step in so you can be refunded. In that case, you won't be required to return the item.

·4 months agoHi @chris.imo2011
I just wanted to clarify that you must wait for a total of 3 business days to have passed before the link (to ask eBay to step in) will appear in your return request.
You don’t SEE the link before it’s time to use it … so buyers often get confused if they look for it too soon.

·4 months agoThen just go back to the return on day 3 and you will see a button to aske ebay to step in.
Do NOT close the case until you get your refund.
