Returns
If I used my item before I shipped it and the buyer after 3 weeks all of a sudden says the keyboard is broken and wants a refund what can I do? He has requested a refund and then said we'll he could do a partial refund and use it for parts. The item worked when I sent it to him. Honestly I think he switched a broken part for the good part in mine and just wanted his money back and is going to send it to me with the broken part on it so then I can't even re list and sell. Is there anything that I can do in this situation?

·1 year ago'keyboard'...aren't they rather inexpensive?
I bought one at Best Buy new for around 50 bucks years ago.
'use it for parts'...not sure what parts are of a keyboard...I assume it just connects to a computer.
It depends on the item cost and shipping...is it better to do a partial refund (cheaper) than return shipping cost.
And would you receive item back or a box of rocks?

OP1 year agoThe item is a Ridgid cs65x monitor. It is several thousand dollars new. The keyboard to be replaced by Ridgid would cost like 1100 dollars. So if I accept return and then I get it back then I just get my stuff back broken and he gets his 1600 dollars back and I can't even re sell because it is messed up now. I hope there is a way for me to not just get screwed completely out of the deal

·1 year agoUnfortunately if the buyer files a case the buyer can return the item within 30 days. If they do then do not fight it. Allow them to return the item and give them the full refund.

OP1 year agoSo I give him the full refund and I am just out the money and the item I sent? The keyboard and everything worked fine I tested it before I sent it so I know that the keyboard was not broken. Is there something I can file or talk to someone to be able to fix the situation?

·1 year agoYeah, this is precisely why I do not sell electronics of any kind. Could well be a scam of the sort you describe. Hard to know.
You say buyer "requested a refund" but I cannot tell what that means precisely -- was it an informal request via a message? Or did he file a formal item not as described, and you were notified by eBay to address the return request?
--If he did, then you could pay for return postage and upon receipt of the item, refund him.
--Conversely, if he buyer has already formally filed a return request, you could ask him to close his refund request and send him a partial refund. The matter will be closed.
Whatever you do, do NOT send him a partial refund before he closes his case.

OP1 year agoI was notified by eBay to accept the request to receive the item back. So I accepted it. Does this mean that I won't be able to get my money from other items that I have sold for a month because the my money says their is a hold of -1600 dollars on my account. But I am receiving 750 in the next couple days for something else I sold, so will I not be able to receive my 750 either until this is resolved?
