Am hesitant to ask this, since you're not an inexperienced buyer, but, when you want to return an item, are you going to your Purchase History, finding the item, then clicking on "Want To Return". After you click on that, you are asked to give a reason. Are you doing that?

Some returns require a photo to be uploaded in order to submit the return request.
If you don't upload a picture you won't be able to submit the return request.
