Return shipping label for “ item not as described “not provided...
Seller is in USA. Where is return shipping label? Ebay threatens to close my return if not shipped back by Oct. 31. This is so strange. No protection, not a happy buying experience.

OP10 months agolet me also add that in a message from ebay, ebay says the seller provided me with a shipping label. This is not true. I do not want to speak with a seller who sends trash, and says he sent a label when he did not. What is eBay going to do about this - except threaten me to close my return on the 31st?

I’m afraid we know no more than you what eBay will do in the future. You can try contacting eBay and ask them to ‘resend’ the return shipping label … if you don’t wish to ask the seller to resend it.
IF you do not see a link to ‘ask eBay to step in’ in your open return request … AND your request ‘times out’ on the 31st … THEN I would immediately phone your credit card company, explain exactly what happened so far, and request a chargeback.
I hope you paid with a credit card. It’s something I believe everyone should do when buying online. It offers buyer protection for many months past the deadline that shopping venues have.

OP10 months agoWon't the cc company want proof of my shipping item back?

Your cc company will tell you what it needs you to do if/when you call them to explain the situation.
You will be telling them that you asked both the seller and eBay for a shipping label … which I hope you’ll do ASAP before the 31st so that it is on your record.
Is the link to ‘ask eBay to step in’ not showing up in your return request?

OP5 months agoCall and explain? I did not buy this item through my cc company. I bought it through eBay. I expect ebay to protect me. In a IND case, the shipping label must be automatic. What happened? Ebay does not protect buyers anymore?

·5 months agoSo this issue from October, 2025, is not yet resolved satisfactorily?
No, you did not buy through your credit card company, but you used a card of some kind to make the payment. Not sure about the fact that the shipping label "must be automatic".
eBay's MBG gives a buyer 30 days to open an item not as described case. At this point, your only recourse would be a chargeback on your credit card because some of them give more than 30 days.
Best of luck to you in attempting to resolve this problem.

·10 months agoHi @jgrit
IF you opened a ‘return request’ … AND the seller has NOT provided a return shipping label within 3 business days … THEN you need to go back to your opened return request on Day 4 and ask eBay to step in.
[I am assuming that BOTH you and the seller reside in the USA.]

Because you opened the return request on a Friday … and neither Saturday nor Sunday are counted as business days … you should see the link to ask eBay to step in sometime today!

·10 months agoSince you mention ebay closing the return, I'm going to assume you opened a NAD claim, correct?
Did the seller respond to the case? If so, your message from ebay telling you to ship it back should include an attachment of the shipping label.

OP10 months agoYes. No attachment.

·10 months agoHate to ask this of an experienced eBayer such as yourself, but did you actually open an item not as described case?
And I believe, (someone will certainly correct me if I am wrong) that your seller has but 4 days to respond and send the return label.
If that does not happen, you need to return to your case and request eBay to step in. They'll refund you from the seller's funds and tell you to keep the item.
Incidentally, you have just 30 days after receipt of the faulty item to do this.
ETA: Did you open an item not received case for that seller where you left negative feedback?

I keep seeing this posted, but in my experience if the seller doesn't provide a label (and it's a USA seller) ebay will supply a return label. They don't just refund the buyer.

·10 months agoDid you "return to your case and request eBay to step in" and help? That's why you got a return label.
If the seller does not respond and you do not ask eBay to step in, eBay will refund no return needed.
Your case for this item has been resolved.
We're sorry you had a problem with your purchase. Unfortunately, it looks like the seller didn't respond to this case.
Here's a summary of your refund. You should receive it in 3-5 business days.

·10 months agoI have NOT known eBay to supply a shipping label IF the seller has a ‘no return’ policy. They just refund.
However, I’m not sure what happens if a seller accepts a return … but doesn’t supply a label for a NAD situation.
Does anyone know whether the link to bring eBay in still appears?
Did you see the link yet
@jgrit ? If not, you may eventually have to go elsewhere for your refund.
