·9 months agoYou gave the buyer the partial refund, not Ebay. They dont issue partials...ever.

·9 months agoIf you want to avoid this sort of issue, you need to assume every buyer is as picky as this buyer is.
You need to honestly include every defect, no matter how small, in your condition description. Relying on pictures to tell the story is inadequate. Many sellers are loath to list all of the defects because they think it will cost them a sale or they will have to reduce the price. You have seen what happens if you omit the important information. Buyers can be merciless.
My experience is buyers who made an offer which I accepted are much more likely to be a problem after the order is delivered. Consider the possibility that an offer is a warning of bad things to come.

·9 months agoIf buyer opened a 'return' then you would have had to refund the entire $480 depending on reason..when it arrived back to you.
Buyers CANNOT open a return and request PARTIAL payment from ebay.
Ebay does NOT give 'partial' refunds.
Don't know where you got that from (only a seller can).

I understand it as you do. Did you issue the partial refund, @begooddogs? Approving the Return would've gotten your coat back... yes, you'd have refunded in full, but you'd have it to repair and relist. eBay would not have approved a partial refund.

·9 months agoFor that amount of money and saying " super condition " , I can see where it could lead to an unhappy buyer.
Got to inspect items with extreme care and note any issues to be safe.

You didn't mention a loose button in the listing. If there was (or wasn't) the buyer can open an Item Not As Described return using the Ebay MBG (which overrides your "no return" policy)

OP9 months agoThere was no loose button and if there was who determins HOW LOOSE A BUTTON CAN BE

·9 months agoYou are obviously missing the crucial points here....
IF the buyer says there is a loose button, there is a loose button!
IF the buyer informed you of said loose button, your options at that point are endless.
IF the buyer informed you through ebay protocols (applying for a return through ebay), your options are limited to accept a return or a partial refund (if offered)...
ebay does not arbitrarily offer partial refunds of $75 for a "loose button"
it just doesn't work that way...YOU (seller) had to offer that amount.....
slap me if I am wrong

If not, your description should have been better.
