Return closed and I never got a refund
Summary: dud_5327 returned a suit that didn't fit and followed the seller's policy, but hasn't received a refund. They find it frustrating to deal with eBay's AI chatbot, which only informs them that the return case is closed. 1786davycrockett suggests performing a chargeback through the credit card company, while questioning whether the proper return process was followed. It's confirmed by dud_5327 that a return request was opened, and the label provided by eBay was used. momtoabeautifuldaughter and zgnisaer express concerns about the return being managed per the seller's policy instead of eBay's procedures.
I returned a suit that was listed in my size but was too small for me (likely altered by a tailor).
I returned it per the seller's policy and the suit was delivered back to the seller on September 8th.
The return case was closed shortly after.
I just got my credit card statement for the month and saw that I never got a refund, so I lost both the item and the money.
I can't get in touch with eBay, I can't call, eBay is telling me to use their AI chatbot, the AI chatbot tells me the case is closed, and so it goes in a big circle .

Did you return the suit before actually opening an official eBay return request case?
If so, eBay can not force the seller to refund your payment.
Always open an official eBay return request in the future -- read this --

·1 week ago@dud_5327 If eBay is telling you that the case has been closed, it sounds as if there is more to this story than we've been told.
Try doing a chargeback through your credit card company.

·1 week ago@dud_5327 what do you mean you returned it according to the sellers policy?
Did you use the shipping label that eBay provided in the case?
Did you open the return within 30 days of receiving it?

·1 week agoI see that but I want to know what they mean by "I returned it per the seller's policy"
I'm hoping the seller didn't convince them to use the label they sent instead of the one provided in the case.

·1 week ago · EditedeBay uses AL now to help complicate starting a return request.
But if the buyer wants to return to the return how we return a return before, it can click "Continue under seller's policy" to return to the return and return that way instead ... which allows up to 10 photos, rather than a return limited to 3 photos with AL.

·1 week agoThank you! I am primarily a buyer on this account and don't really ever return things.
