    Return closed

I purchased a car stereo in March, received it damaged. Contacted seller, who provided an address to ship back. I mail the radio back using Media Mail with no tracking- big mistake. Seller claimed that they did not receive the radio, stop answering my inquiries, and eBay closed the return because the deadline has passed. Do I have any other options?..thank you

Next time if you have such an issue, do this:

Go to your eBay Purchase History and open a return case.
Find the item in your Purchase History and press the big, blue 'Return this item' button. Select "Item Arrived Damaged" as the reason for the return.

If it requires you to upload a photo to the return case you will need to do that.

Seller will be required to provide a prepaid shipping label IF they want the item back before refunding.

When the return tracking shows delivered back to the seller, the seller will have 2 days to inspect and refund your purchase. If that does not happen there will be an "Ask eBay to Step In", option for you to click on. EBay will refund your money.

Under NO circumstances do you close the return before getting your refund, REGARDLESS of what the seller might tell you.

Come back here with any or all questions you might have throughout this process.

And, under no circumstances, would anyone ever ship a radio via media mail.

Radio used to be 'Media'.   ðŸ˜‹

Why would you mail a radio back Media Mail? If a package doesn't have tracking you won't be getting a refund unless the seller agrees to give you one, and it doesn't sound like they are even responding to you. You really can't say if they got it or not.

I have a Pitney Bowes Mail machine in my office, that I weigh the radio, then print the postage. A few days after mailing, then the seller sent me a return label, too late then.

If you didnt use the sellers return label with the tracking # to prove delivery Im afraid you are out of luck, with PP, or a cc.

    Hi @rajendra0729

Without tracking … you can’t prove that you mailed anything.  Also, a radio isn’t eligible for Media Mail … so it may have been confiscated by the post office.

The seller was responsible for providing a prepaid shipping label for a damaged item … so I strongly recommend you read eBay’s Money Back Guarantee so you know what to do if this happens in the future.

I’m very sorry this happened, but I’m afraid you’re out of luck on this one.  â˜¹ï¸

They would only confiscate it if it had counterfeit stamps on it. Otherwise, they will mail it back to the sender or it will arrive postage due at the seller's post office and he would have to pay the difference to retrieve  it. This is assuming that the post office opened it and inspected it.  Without a tracking number, the buyer can't prove that it was returned.

The Pitney Bowes machine didn't select Media Mail. That aside, you should have waited for the seller's shipping label.

If the Media Mail package is returned to you, you could possibly affix the sellers label and try, try again. (If you used PayPal, you can open a NAD claim, but you'll have to provide the label... hint, hint.) Good luck.

A radio does not qualify to ship by MM.

Any USPS package (unless you just put stamps on it and dropped it in a collection box) would have a tracking #.

Did you get a receipt from USPS. Tracking # would be on it.

You could, if you paid with PP, open a dispute there, and provide that tracking # to prove return.
