Remorse Return on a USPS International Shipment where Shipping costs more than the item
I sold an item via USPS first class international package because it doesn't qualify for EIS. The shipping that the buyer paid was a few dollars more than the cost of the actual item. I guess they didn't realize it was as small of a product as it was and so now they want to return it. Luckily they were honest and said that they changed their mind.
I have free returns domestically but buyer pays return shipping on international shipments. So they will have to pay more than what the item is worth to ship it back, and from my understanding I only have to refund the cost of the item not the original Shipping once I get it back.
So then they will get a negative refund? They would owe ebay money somehow?
Should I be contacting them somehow to explain this?
What would you do in this scenerio?

·2 years agoDo nothing unless the buyer is asking you questions.
Buyer cannot purchase the international return label through eBay. They will purchase label outside of eBay then add tracking to the return (if they use a tracked service). Once you get the item you refund item cost through the return.
My guess is buyer won't return when they realize what shipping costs. That's what usually happens to me with international remorse returns.
