Refunding buyer
I refunded a buyer for a damaged item. The buyer shows a shattered item. They requested a refund but placed it as a return. I gave the refund. Now they are asking for the shipping to be refunded. I am unable to find how to refund the shipping. This is my first experience with a refund and it's not going well at all. I know I packed the item very well. They claim it hardly had any packing and they just knew it was going to be damaged when they received it. I feel they are lying but felt I have no recourse. This is very frustrating as a seller to feel at a buyers mercy. I've learned my lesson on shipping priority though. Fortunately it wasn't a lot of money and I just want to be done with it. Any help is much appreciated.

·3 years agoIf you refunded (before the Return claim was opened) for 'damaged', did you not already issue a full refund?

OP3 years agoThey requested a return first, then I was able to issue the refund. The amount was for the item purchased amount, the shipping fee was not included.

It sounds like the Return listed a remorse reason and didn't cite 'Damaged'. What reason was listed in the case?

OP3 years agoI did refund through their request to return. It only refunded the purchase amount not the shipping fee they paid. When I went back to the case I cannot find anywhere that will let me refund any other amount.

OP3 years agoI thought the same thing. My only hesitation is that eBay always states to do everything through their site.

·3 years agoTheres no problem refunding a shipping charge thru PP, since there is no other way to do it.
