·2 years agoYou want to do more than refund them. You want to Cancel the order. Find the order Seller Hub/Orders/Awaiting shipment and use the drop-down menu to the left of the order to 'Cancel', citing 'Out of stock/Item no longer available'. You only get a couple of those per year... use the next one only if neccessary.
Your customer will receive a full refund and you won't have an open order that eBay is waiting for you to close.
