Refund puzzle
Summary: abc_collectiblesl sold speakers and issued a refund after a buyer mistakenly filed for a refund instead of canceling an order. Despite the refund and funds being withdrawn from abc_collectiblesl's bank account, eBay still shows the case as open with funds on hold. eoma689485 explained that once a refund process begins, the transaction funds are frozen by eBay, and it can take a few days for the system to update and release the original funds back into the seller's account.
I sold a pair of speakers. Buyer paid and they were packed and shipping label purchased when buyer decided he made a mistake and filed for a refund instead of requesting cancelation of the order. I issued a refund and funds were withdrawn from my bank account. The following day Ebay still shows an open case with funds on hold and on payment summary it shows refund completed (?).Anybody can please explain what's going on here and how I can contact Customers Service directly to get some answers.

·2 weeks agoWhen a buyer opens a return/refund request instead of canceling, eBay automatically freezes the original transaction funds. Because those funds were on hold, the refund you issued had to pull directly from your linked bank account or card on file.
The original sale funds remain on hold until the open dispute or case officially registers as closed by eBay's automated system, which can take a day or two to sync even after a refund is sent. Once the system completely clears the closed return status, the original held funds will be released and transferred back into your available balance/payout account to make you whole
