5 months is a rather long time. Buyer can open a claim with you through eBay....sometimes it works.
I had a buyer open a claim with me after 6 months on eBay. I gave no refund and it closed per eBay...after I contacted them through the open claim. Will it work for you? I don't really know.
I also had someone open a claim after 3 months and eBay closed that after I responded not giving a refund.
So I think the buyer is the one who can try to do that.
Why would you refund someone after 5 months?
