purchasing ebay "return labels"
Hi all. My frustration abounds, with cyclical, dead end directives, once again. The "returns dashboard" bears no tangible fruit, that I have discerned, in my quest to find a button to click on, that just, simply, reads, "purchase ebay return label" Can I get some proper "human" navigation from someone here, please.?

·8 months agoThe Returns Dashboard page is for returns that have been initiated by your buyers.
Your listing won't show up there unless your buyer has initiated a return.

OP8 months agoThat is indeed the state of the return, at the basis of my query. Buyer initiated.

Then I would go to your Manage All Orders page and go from there.
There will be instructions on what to do next.

I'll offer this... stop looking. There's not a button for that. Approve any Return and you (or the buyer) will pay for the label.

OP8 months agoOk, appreciate the help. That does clear away some fog. How is pmt. initiated for the label, on my end.? The return item interface is asking for a label to be uploaded, which, when I click on, only brings up the file utilty on my PC.

Doh... you just went over my head. What is the file utility?

·8 months agoHave you started a return case? You would get access to the label, after that.........

OP8 months agoThe buyer requested a return, and I accepted. Got on the return item page, with a box for uploading a return label, that only brings up the file utility, on my PC. That's as far as I am with this. I'm not sure if that constitutes the start of the case. Seemingly not. Even though the status reads; "return started" I don't yet have access to purchase the return label, and upload the same, at this point. is there a complete additional step to officially open this thing to label generation fluency, that I'm missing?

·8 months agoSounds like buyer didn't open a case in which you would see all the 'choices'. Tell buyer to open a return case first. Return cases are NOT something a seller opens, buyer must.
Then, when you open the return case started by the buyer (I assume they did as you CANNOT) there is a place for you to 'provide' a return label since all your sold items say 'you' will pay return shipping. If buyer is in USA and so are you, you simply click the box that says 'ebay will provide' (vs the one that says 'I will provide')

·8 months agoCustomer is supposed to "print return label" from their computer. Seller will be automatically charged when customer prints return label if reason "not as described". Customer will be charged for return label if reason "does not fit or buyer's remorse".

·8 months agoI don't have a copy of the return options in front of me, but I know there is no stand alone option to purchase a label. If you are trying to respond to a return filed on one of your items, you need to carefully read the options to pick from. If you want your item back, you need to pick the one that states something about refund upon return. Picking this one prompts ebay to provide the buyer with a return shipping label. Another option merely states to refund--don't pick that if you want your item back.
