·4 months agoI'm sorry you had an experience like this.
Our replies to feedback can act as our best defense to inform potential buyers on what really happened if no fault of seller, or if buyer didn't read before purchase.
Sometimes I'll even message a buyer to make sure they saw a defect in pictures or description - that way you made sure the buyer was fully informed - as sometimes buyers don't read all of description before purchase.
Best of luck on future sales!
EDIT: okay I am reading replies and seeing you didn't even sell the item they left feedback on - which confused me at first on the original post. Definitely try being as kind and polite as possible anytime buyers make mistake - always better to work out in your favor.
Maybe a kind direct message before replying to feedback: to say you understand it looks like they mixed you up with another seller. To ask if they might kindly consider a feedback revision, might be best option for future mishaps with buyer mistakes.

·4 months agoThis one was obviously a mistake by the buyer. You could have handled it better.
That being said I looked at your other reply to a negative and you were way out of line. Out of stock and you lit into the dissapointed customer as if they did something wrong. They deserved an apology not a verbal assault.........................

·4 months agoThat was my thought at first, too. However, I re-read it and it sounds like the buyer did not pay the seller. Rather than have his buyer get a ding, the seller chose to cancel using the out of stock reason and take the hit himself. Then, the buyer turn-around and left him a negative. If I am reading their reply correctly, that seems to be what happened. I'd be upset by that too, as I would be by the other buyer who left the negative this thread is about. I just can't come down on this seller as others have. They've had two idiot buyers and while they could have handled each one better than they did, their replies are far from the worse I've seen.

·4 months agoYou really should have reached out to him nicely and professionally to explain he had the wrong seller.

·4 months ago@teacher7895 Appeal the feedback to eBay based on the below policy:

·4 months agoYour response is uncalled for. You should've politely message the buyer and explain the situation. The file for feedback revision. It is obviously a mistake. You could also attempt to appeal the feedback to see if Ebay will remove it because it's not the item sold to the buyer. Unfortunately things like this happen but I wouldn't get angry about it.

Your responses are very poor. Additionally, writing in all caps I believe is still considered yelling..

·4 months agoThis buyer was obviously a rather new buyer and left the wrong feedback.
It's not a book...and it's sealed in plastic...anyone can see that clinking on the item and ignoring the photo taken of something else.
And, I can understand being upset and mad as heck...but responding in a feedback won't help any.
I don't know if you requested a revision to eBay or to the buyer...but unfortunately we can can't request a revision to both.
With artificial intelligence and no real live people anymore to help there's not much that can be done.
But, I understand your anger totally...especially if It was the first thing you saw waking up with coffee in the morning.
Some buyers will be like this...not much we can do.

·4 months agoFive alarm fire on any bridge to the buyer. Your response makes revision by the buyer unlikely.

·4 months agoIf I understand this correctly: You sold an audiobook - a set of 6 CDs. The feedback you received was in connection with a hardcopy book, which was NOT sold by you with lots of pages marked with an ink pen. So, it would appear that the feedback you received was ill aimed by your buyer. Correct?
I think it would be safe to say that your buyer made a mistake. One that I think could have been corrected via a Feedback Revision Request. This along with a polite, calm, message to the buyer might have done the trick.
I can truly appreciate your frustration with how this unfolded. It would have been better if you stopped and counted to a million before you punched back with a hot response. Instead, you have shot yourself in the foot with your response.
Lots of luck moving forward on this one.

·4 months agoNo, I looked at your reply which was very unprofessional.
You deserved that feedback IMO

·4 months agoAre you referring to the negative you received in the last month? The one where the buyer left factual feedback in a calm tone and you replied in all caps shouting and name calling like you're doing now? Yeah I wonder who's the idiot here.

·4 months agoWhat do you mean that it wasn't even bought from you?
You can request that eBay remove the FB, but don't get your hopes up.
Looks like your buyer felt that it was quite a bit marked up, you felt that it wasn't much, so subjective difference of opinion there, I guess.

·4 months ago[Removed by moderator] sold an Audio Book containing 6 CD's - there are no pages in an audio book - The buyer left feedback to the wrong seller.
Contact the Buyer and explained about his mistake, then ask if they would agree to a feedback revision, if so, then send them one.
